That is a beautiful layout! Where do you find the information to write down? And what do you do when you find plants you don’t recognize?

Thank you! I use the app Plant.net to identify a plant, seed or flower. Then I look them up in my field guides or online to confirm what they really are😊

Thanks so much! This is my own made up lettering style! Feel free to take a screenshot to duplicate…its basically block lettering with serifs added here and there…hope that helps a little 😊❤️

I don’t believe I was using a brush pen in this video…it’s a dip pen. A G nib and a Tachikawa Nib Holder. 😊

I love your videos, lettering, layouts, all top notch. It’s taken me several views to figure out what feels so “off”. For as wonderful as your drawings are and most of the watercoloring, the pages never look realistic. Perhaps that’s what you’re going for 🤷🏻‍♀️ When I was learning on my own, then later in art courses and workshops the phrase “nothing in nature is tube green” came up repeatedly. And for the seemingly millions of shades of tube and pan greens, none of them are realistic. They always need toning down with a complimentary color or greyed out with Payne’s or pumped up with a yellow. They can’t stand on their own as “natural” colors. Again, perhaps you’re going for a brighter, cartoony look; but I think your work would just sing if the greens were… more complex. I say this as a fellow watercolorist and teacher and only bring it up bc maybe you’ve never heard that. Learning today is very different than it was decades ago when I was starting out.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. My journaling and style is a work in progress for sure. I do like to use brighter colors for You Tube though I often mix many of my greens beforehand and don’t always show the mix. I am also enjoying the illustrative style of nature journaling as well. Thanks for watching 😊
