Fantastic tips and questions to ask ourselves! I can't say which is my favorite size, though -- they all have a purpose for different activities. I received a gift of a small 2" x 3" that I carry on my daily nature walks to capture just 1 plant that caught my eye that day, and that has turned out to be such a wonderful journal! There's no pressure to complete a big page or fear of the blank page. Most of my nature journaling is done in a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" mixed media sketchbook which fits great in my journal kit bag, so I would say medium size is my most commonly used. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful entry in your nature diary! It’s so inspiring to watch your process, you make it feel very approachable. I especially appreciate that you get lovely results on cellulose paper. (I also have a Stan Tekiela tree guide for my state and love it!)

Your sketches are beautiful I love A5 size sketchbooks because they suite all situations for me outside I hug mine close to sketch inside it's used on my desk also I love to put my yoga mat down and sketch in the living room this has a childish effect on my sketches and loosens up my artwork too thank you for sharing this video with really useful information hints and tips 😊

I am tending to like smaller 5 by 5 inch sketchbooks right now. It seems easier to complete a small drawing or painting. I always enjoy seeing your art and books!

I use a 7x10 mixed media spiral sketchbook for the most part. I sometimes make an accordion fold watercolor sketchbook if i’m wanting to do wetter, looser work. Those i make out of 9x12 pads so they end up being 6x9. I make those accordion folded so i can work with two or more continuous panels.

So many great tips in this video! I particularly love how you paint light shades in the background before painting the darker colors of the subject. I'm going to try this! I became fascinated with the Red Horse-Chestnut blooms this year and wish I had thought to press the flowers from the blooms - next year! The radiant leaf arrangement is so interesting, too. Your little sketchbook is absolutely amazing! I always notice the little tiny flowers myself and often want to paint them. I have to make time as I would like to document them also. I especially like the little violas that we have here and most people say they are weeds but I see them differently with their tiny petals and beautiful colours of yellow and deep purple. Thanks for the inspiration. TLC

Your lease looked really flat. Did you press them for a long time? I definitely want to try this. I live in a little island in Alaska considered the rainforest so lots of different types of leaves and I’m going to be using fresh ones.
