Roughly a third of the way through my "Learning Dutch in 90 Days Challenge, I've encountered many types of words and have used a few different ways to memorize them all. Here's a peek into some of the strategies I've been using.
For those catching up: This year I teamed up with the Drops Language Learning App, who challenged me to learn 2000 words in a foreign language in 90 days. I chose Dutch because of my mother's Flemish/Belgian ancestry.
If you've ever wanted to learn a language, there's no better time to start than now, and with this app! Join me! #90DaysWithDrops (check out the app here: languagedrops.com/)

しゅくだい(shukudai) if you don't do your homework. Never used that word in the 8 years since I learned it, but I still remember it because of this person on memrise's dumb mnemonic lol

Well, since my first language is portuguese, maybe this wont make sense in english, but in order to memorize some chinese (wasnt actually chinese, but i dont know how you call “catalao” in english, so... i guess chinese is close enough) words for my kung fu test i had to made some weird associations. For example: Til Key Ma, in portuguese sounds as something like “uncle burn”. Key Long Ma, that stands for Crossed Dragon, as “Ma” sounds similar to “sea” in portuguese, i used to figure a dragon flying over the sea - so i could remember which one was that, and also the chinese name for it.

SOS. Grab a Routledge frequency dictionary! That is a dictionary where you learn vocabulary from most commonly to least commonly used words. To give you an example the first words of every language are: the, me, mine, take, you, over, jump, give, .... and then it gets to words like learn, somehow, after, drive, meet. This is the most economical way to learn a language, and I really don't know why people choose vocabulary based on a theme! However it is harder to memorize verbs, and once you need some practise. Even if you find a youtuber that you enjoy, you still need the time to sit down and watch them.

Can i ask you something? All this methods are incredible but they all need a lot of time to create the "connection" between what you want to memorize and the "path" to do so. Is there a faster way to create those connections? For example in my work i need to keep in mind lot of information that i read in very short time.

Thanks a lot for your advices, my question is, how learn verbs, because your examples are all about sustantives. Maybe trying to link to sustantives? For example I learn today the word "utterances" for me is wierd and is a verb, and in spanish is declaraciones, how do you do It?

Instead of focusing on words, why not focus on patterns which convey feelings in language. Vocabulary alone rarely expresses any feelings. People will often complain about not being able to express themselves even after spending a while studying language. What they're saying is that they can't express their feelings properly. Focus on patterns rather than vocabulary and you will get farther faster.

The problem with this method is that when you acctually have to speak you don't have time to use memory tactics.

Hmmm, I reckon you could go and live in Amsterdam for 10 years and never ever need to know the words for ladybird, ostrich, spider etc (unless you became a zookeeper!). Seems like the Drops app doesn't prioritise vocab choice very well :)
