I have 9 children, 8 still living at home, so frugality is important! We do a lot of the things you do, and some we don't. We don't have a tv! We do watch videos occasionally on the computer. We love to read, so we utilize our local libraries or buy used books. We take advantage of "free days" at local museums or zoos. We hike and bike a lot. We rarely eat out unless it's a special occasion. Homemade meals, although I'm not as great as everything organic or homemade bread, etc. We don't use essential oils either, but we do use vitamin supplements as well. I love L'bri skin products - my splurge. I do free you tube workout videos. Rarely buy coffee when I'm out, would have to be a special date breakfast with my husband. We pretty much buy all our clothes brand new, etc. A big splurge for us is putting out kids in a good Christian school, that is a priority to us over other "stuff." Just a few things I thought of. I have enjoyed watching a few of your videos I recently came across. I especially enjoyed your testimony of coming to Christ, praise God! I was born again when I was 18 years old, was a nominal catholic until I came to true faith in Christ. Saved by grace through faith!

I love the “free days” idea! I need to plan ahead for those and do a little research. I usually go to the zoo with someone who has a pass which allows them to bring a friend, so I luck out on that! Thank you for watching and for being here! What a blessing to have a big family AND be able to put all your children in private school. I think that’s a great priority to have. We haven’t decided what route we’re going (homeschool or private). I’m only pregnant with my third right now and my eldest is only 3 but I still feel the pressure to make a decision! Blessings to you and your sweet family!

These were good!! I agree about the candles. I quit using them because they’re aren’t good for your hormones.

Thank you so much for this!! My husband and I have been chatting recently about how to be more frugal, and were honestly not coming up with many things. I’m excited to share with him the ideas you gave us here! I’ll also definitely be checking out Deep Nutrition as the health of my family has been at the front of my mind recently. Thanks again, Kyrie! Happy New Year!

Hi, I am a new subscriber over from Hiliary of Old World Home. I found this vlog very interesting. I have eliminated some of the things you mentioned. Here I thought i was doing well with the seed oil like canola ect but wondered what oil you use for baking. So many recipes call for vegetable oil. Look forward to watching more of your vlog.

Thanks for coming over, Sally! If a recipe calls for vegetable oil I use avocado oil. It’s flavorless and is easy to use since it’s a liquid. However, i like using coconut oil in certain baked goods because I like the flavor! The only bummer is the extra step of melting it. 😃

New clothes for children were a rarity at our home when my kids were young. Between children’s consignment shops, thrift shops and kids sales one can find great high end brands at a fraction of the cost! My trade-off was I purchased well-made shoes from a quality manufacturers.

Oh that’s a great one, too! I’m lucky enough to get hand-me-downs for my son, but for my daughter we have to buy hers. I need to be more diligent about digging!

I would like to know what do you use for body and laundry “fragance” if not even using essential oil 😢
@TransformedHomemakersSociety
@TransformedHomemakersSociety 2 ай бұрын
Laundry: I make my own using these ingredients - Castile Bar Soap, Borax, Super Washing Soda. no frangrance - our clothes don't need to smell like anything other than clean. For soap I use castile soap (unscented).

As you age, sunglasses are important to prevent cataracts, especially if you have light colored eyes.. I am 67 and do not have cataracts like everyone else I know does. I have been wearing sunglasses for about 10 years.

@@cynthiafisher9907 I think sunglasses are crucial and especially for blue or lighter colored eyes! It is so easy to damage your retinas or corneas especially in conditions of glare (on water or in snow)-very damaging.

Wow, this was a lot! While I really like you and have enjoyed the videos I’ve watched of yours and subscribed, this one gave me an uneasy vibe. I am older, so I know it has a bit to do with that, but I think it would be good for you to rewatch this video and notice the passion with which you are expressing your commitment to nontoxic ingredients and frugality, etc. Maybe you’re just a huge perfectionist by nature, but I’m uneasy by hearing how much you have thought about these things and how important they seem to be to you. I have heard other young women on KZfaq expressing similar ideas(maybe not to this extreme), so it probably doesn’t stand out to you. I think it’s great to want to try to keep your family healthy and save money. I don’t think it’s healthy to be so committed to it, though. It’s hard to express what I mean, but anything taken to extremes can be unbalanced. I think it’s admirable that you don’t use sugar as a rule, but a little here or there isn’t going to hurt anything. Idk, many young women these days are so obsessed with physical health that it has almost become a religion and it seems one feels pressured to out-health and out-frugal the next. I like you a lot, but you may end up making your kids twitch with your intensity about all these things, feeling like they can’t breathe for all the attention to every detail of every. single. thing. Maybe relax a little?

Cynthia, thanks for your honest comment! While my intent is never to make anyone feel uncomfortable with my life choices, on my channel, I do share how my husband and I have chosen to live. In our case, we feel best when we live healthfully (also happens to be part of my brand) and frugally. Zero intent to “out-do” anyone - simply how we have found we feel the best. Also, to be clear, we absolutely treat ourselves to sugar! We just try to keep it out of the house. I can assure you my children are not deprived of sugar. I’d encourage you to watch my Christmas cookies video as proof! Haha Anyway, I hope when you watch KZfaq you don’t compare anything to your own life in a way that makes you feel so uneasy, rather glean helpful tips if there are any and leave the rest. Thank you for following along with my channel! 🤍
