Pickled onion recipe: 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 1/2 tsp granulated sugar, 1/2 Tbs sea salt, 1 red onion and filtered water. Combine ACV, sugar and salt in a jar, add sliced onion, cover with filtered water, add the lid and shake. Place in fridge and shake a couple more times (if you think about it). Last about 1 week.

Thank you so much! I think it’s so great that you have a teen in the kitchen! One of my goals is for my kids to know how to cook well before leaving the home.

I think it helps tremendously to be a foodie in learning to be a great cook. To me, food is mostly fuel, so it’s often a struggle for me to make myself take food to the next level. I like good food, but my preferred palate is pretty limited. My husband, however, is a big foodie, so it does matter a lot to him.

This is the second comment which is very similar! Wife not as much of a foodie as husband. Very interesting! I am a foodie, but if it weren’t for my husband, I’d probably spend many nights a week having a slice of toast for dinner! My husband is very tall and works a very physical job, so I have to keep him very well-nourished.

Oh my goodness thank you so much for this Kyrie! ❤😃 This is exactly the video I have been looking for! I am listening while cooking a breakfast for dinner tonight and near the end I had the thought to put everything together on a platter to serve (maybe my picky 4yr old son will be more excited to eat!). Then you literally gave the tip a moment later after my thought about serving it so it's pleasing to the eye. Yes! Totally going to do that right now. Thank you thank you!!!

What a beautiful spread!! Do you have a good recipe for pickled onion. I’m glad you mentioned cast iron because I feel like a good pan makes allllll the difference. If you can splurge I HIGHLY recommend HexClad pans as well.

Slow cooker. I like to incorporate meals at least once a week. Yes we also prefer non chain restaurants.

It’s so true that you need to care to be a good cook. I care about eating healthy so I am an okay cook because I have had to research several things. Unfortunately, I care more about eating healthy than the taste of the food! My husband cares about both and I love when he cooks for us!

I am both a foodie AND care about healthy eating. The two worlds can be meshed together! I LOVE when my husband cooks too 😃 thanks so much for watching!

Great tips. My mom taught me how to use extra stuff, not in the fridge. They are sometimes the best meals. Did you have a slow cooker category? I may have missed it.

Ah a slow cooker category would be great! I think that’s deserving of its own category for sure.

Doesn't cutting on the hard countertop dull your knife?! I've always used a cutting board. Curious to know what your experience has been. Cheers!

I actually have no idea what the repercussions are! I’ll have to look it up. I just started doing it because we got rid of our island and I don’t like my Boos block anywhere else… there haven’t been any consequences yet but perhaps dulling the knife could be an issue! Also, I sharpen my knives often as a habit, so maybe I’ll never know.

Oh my goodness, I was thinking the exact same thing! I could hardly watch the knife coming down so forcibly on her lovely countertops. We are finishing up a very expensive kitchen remodel this very week and I cannot imagine treating my countertops like that! I strive to be a good steward of what I have.🫣

@@charmingintrovert3240 it definitely won’t ruin granite as granite is quite durable so I wouldn’t worry about that. I’d worry more about the knives if you aren’t in a good practice of sharpening regularly 😃
