Mike Wallace did his job very well, he was not going to ask him music questions, he had to ask those kinds of almost intimate questions, and it was a good question because it was not that he was fat, he was very fat and he was in danger his health all the time by being very fat, it is not about aesthetics but health, in 1993 it was known that you have to take care of yourself with meals, I think it was a good question, Pavarotti enjoyed one of the greatest pleasures in life that was food obviously excess, it saddens me how I finish Pavarotti in 2007, some say for his wife, I end very badly.

While I concur about the stupid criticism that saw Pav at the ‘ twilight’ of his career in 1993, I very much doubt he would consider the three Tenor s Concerts as the peak of his career. Even though those concerts helped so many discover his magnificent voice, and those of his two friends .

I am truly proud that my name is also Luciano. And it's because of Pavarotti's great smile and that he doesn't care what others think. What a great guy!!! (And also because of his work with Bono. U2 fan here XD)

Pavarotti reminds me a lot of one of my uncles: overweight, fantastic black beard and mustache, and loves to sing(though my uncle sings bass, and he sings in a mixed gender acappella quartet).

Seemed like such a nice guy and seemed very humble . So sad he passed away. Certainly didn’t think it was necessary to talk about him being overweight a few times in this interview. Didn’t care so much for the gentleman doing interview. I hope Mr. Pavarotti is with Jesus our Savior and Redeemer!!!🙏🙏

People are taking the weight questions too seriously as you can see from the interview he is a really good sport about it. Italians are not as over sensitive on this topic and will gladly admit they are big because they like to eat, unlike in America where people have to pretend people didn't become fat because of their lifestyle choices.

I liked this video because Pavarotti made the most of it and showed what a truly down to earth person he was, as genuine artists are, and was truthful and with a good sense of humor. His wife also seemed down to earth. The interviewer just got lucky, because he was fixated on the man's weight when before him he had a true musical genius and legend.

This is how Americans interview celebrities, and it’s terrible. But Pavarotti handled it with grace, humility, and even some wit and humor. Such a humble, fun-loving man. He would’ve made an excellent teacher after he called it a career as a traveling singer. Also, his English is really good!
