No matter what you think of John McCain, he really lived his life based on the values he grew up with. He has flaws, but he was honest about it and accepted his mistakes and was apologetic about it. You may not agree with his policies but this man has principle. Few men are willing to forsake his party for his principle. That makes him one of a kind. Salute to you Sir. Rest in Peace.

Black Widow ... Thats not true. The truth may hurt, but I don’t like liars. If you want the real truth, look for it. If you don’t, then that’s ok too.? I used to believe in McCain. Then, I was forced to listen and all that I didn’t want to believe, I realized it was true. John was a wild, rude, disobedient young man. At Annapolis, he was always in trouble and because he was from a privileged Navy family, he let that “bratty privileged “ person out. Out of a class of 495 graduates, he was 5th from the bottom. On the Navy ship where he was a pilot, he goofed around with the planes despite numerous warnings. His refusal to obey those warnings resulted in an on ship explosion which killed, I believe 124 of his brothers in arms. He wrecked more than 2 planes from goofing around. Once in Italy, he was flying too low and became entangled in electrical wires. It is said by his peers that he should have been stripped of his wings, but because his father and grandfather were admirals, he wasn’t. Those who were imprisoned with him, said he cooperated with the enemy for special treatment. It is said he was offered an opportunity to go home, but refused when he learned that the other prisoners couldn’t. Now, this is told as if he was the only one given this opportunity, but that’s not true. I’ve heard numerous men who were imprisoned with him were also given the same opportunity. Furthermore, John would have been disowned by his family if he left those men. Lastly, he gave the election to Obama. He would not fight. He warned Palin to not make rifts and blamed her for his loss. McCain never intended to win. He was there to make sure Obama won. He was totally in cahoots with Clinton and Obama and Trump knew this. This and all of the above are why Trump would never would acknowledge him as a hero. I hated the way Trump handled it, but it was the truth. I really hate that I now believe these awful things, but nonetheless, I cannot abide lies or liars.

He was there to make sure Obama won. He was totally in cahoots with Clinton and Obama and Trump knew this." ?!?! You say this and you want the people to believe you ?...and you say that you don't like lies and liars ? What you said it's a shameless lie !! How can you ever imagine that someone could run for the presidency just to give it to the opponent ? Yes, he probably had a "pampered" youth, maybe he wasn't the perfect hero, but he proved to be man of honour, man of values and principles, man of honesty and integrity when he got to his mature age. And he really served his country. All these qualities you won't find it easily nowadays...you find just Trump going to play golf... And one more thing: just look at the way how McCain went on his way towards his death with dignity and honour, and compare it with how many others were or will be able to do it (including Trump)...and you'll see who's real man and who's not, you'll see where is the lie you mentioned it so emphatically.

@@oldfartinthenight9201 .... I’m aware of snopes, and while many things they post are true, they do miss the truth at times, and they are not right about John McCain. I know this, because I have personally spoken to TWO MEN WHO SERVED WITH McCAIN and WERE IMPRISONED FOR LONGER THAN McCAIN. I used to admire McCAIN, I even participated in his campaign and voted for him as president. I believed the story that McCAIN was the hero among the men imprisoned, but I assure you, he was no hero. It was reported that they would beat McCain until he was close to death, allow him to heal, and repeat the beatings. None of that happened. He did suffer broken bones and other injuries, but those occurred during his plane crash. He received care, because of who his father, and grandfather were. Trump went live and broadcasted the lies that the enemy told him to say. In fact, THERE ARE TAPES OF McCAIN READING THE PROPAGANDA GIVEN TO HIM. The prisoners who were really suffering, nicked named him the “HANOI HILTON SONGBIRD!” Fellow prisoners said McCain was given special privileges, and he worked in the officers home, where he was able to eat the same food served to the Vietnamese. They also said, young girls and women were regularly brought in to “service the officers,” and McCain had access to those females. The one thing that I read about McCain that greatly impressed me was being told that McCain was offered the opportunity to go home, and he refused it when he learned the other prisoners were not offered that deal. I was in awe of McCain for this. We were told that when McCain learned that the other prisoners couldn’t go, he courageously made the decision to remain with “His men,” and turned and crawled back into the “Hole.” When I read that I thought,”Oh my gosh,” what a courageous person. You might imagine how upset I was to learn that I had been lied to. It’s also widely known that the reason McCain’s refusal to go home it was not because the rs couldn’t, but because he would have disgraced his family’s name. That’s why he didn’t go home. It wasn’t because he was a hero who stood with his fellow prisoners. It was because he was afraid of his father and grandfather!. And, if you don’t won’t to believe that, at least consider how poorly he treated Vets while he served as a Senator. There were POW’s who wanted their records unsealed and McCain voted them down. The Vets I spoke to said that McCain couldn’t allow the release of those records, because the release of those records would show that McCain was a phony and a liar. . They ( ; DDR d🦧🍋

What a wonderful man. He served our country. In Viet Nam, in the Senate,, on the campaign trail. We should all thank him for his service, and we should tell the President that he was wrong to say that he wasn’t a war hero. This man was a hero, he was captured and could’ve gotten released but he stayed with his men. I’m saddened that we’ve lost this man, and send sympathy to his family from my family.
