as soon as I heard the word "zulu" i was immediately triggered because on my japan deity run they forward settled a spot that had like 2 gold and a silver along with deer and truffles and so i almost declared war on them but i saw them trying to go behind me (zulus were north and i was south) to get a spot that had mt kilimanjaro and some copper/spice but i beat them to it and their settler got pushed by the city startup boundaries since we didn't have open borders and they said "don't settle cities near us" and i was like WTF since they hadn't even founded a city but i guess the AI already set that it had a city there but magically didn't make any stuff for the empire and the only city down there was mine on the map. Then they declared war on us 20 turns later but i had went 2 eras past them since I rushed for science (made a load of cities real fast since more pop is more sci) but halfway through the war they caught up 1 era but all their troops were stationed around tokyo (like 5 hexes from the nearest zulu city border) and i hadn't produced enough troops and they tried to retreat to upgrade them and sadly couldn't catch them (no idea how the AI thought of that must have been like 1/100000000000000 chance or something) and when they got back to the border i had captured the amazing city of luxury items so they could barely afford to upgrade any troops even tho they got the deity BS on their side so we screwed them over from that point. that is why.

Drew should do a let's play series of Leonidas' Sparta mod in Civ V. He can't settle. He can only conquer, but he gets bonuses for military. It would be a fun challenge for Drew, and it would be entertaining.

Money on Scotland. Got the population, got the military, got the continued expansion while also keeping themselves nice and compact and defensible. Good geographic position to go out and grab chunks of the North Americas as well. I like this video, maybe show us the demographics page from time to time and point out any notable category leaders.
