Thank you Shark Dude!! Your power supply video with feet showing made my wife burst out in non-stop laughter. 😷😆🤣 Seriously.. thanks for your easy to understand and comprehend lessons. 👍🏻🇺🇸

I was thinking of using a 1000w 50v one for my 600w amp build and use the 12v to run bias circuit

Mr. MudDuckSharky , I just wanted to say thank you so much. I ordered one of these power supply and love it. it's better than a mean well. i built a ldmos off your schematic i did a little change to it like i a doorknob capasistor of 650pf in the place of the 2 of 330pf and it runs great . thank you again . aka 6o cheyenne wyoming channel 28

This is awesome! Thank you for the info mr sharky!

Thank you for the info. looking for around 65V for LDMOS . you can add more caps to help with ripple. Think I want 2 for SSB to help with voltage sag. 73's

The LDMOS pallets have my interest. As long as a pallet comes with all necessary components and instructions I think I could put one together. My main concern is tuning. Do these pallets need to be tuned after assembly? I have no test equipment to tune with nor the knowledge to tune an amplifier.

How much for one of those single transistor devices? I have a 250amp alternator anyway to have a moible supply to run one of these?

Now for me a sideband operator might need some more help somewhere what do you think? I run and monitor 385 lsb or 395 usb for the I S channel. Thanks for all your videos Cale.

It would be nice if you would have gave us at least a block diagram for your power supply design..

Can you parallel 2 and do they have a common share connection?
@MudDuckSharky3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Output can be put in parallel, as many as need, with no other connections required.

Hi, first let me say then you are doing a great job. Me and one of my friend are looking to built a ldmos amplifier but we need your help with the cooling system so Is it possible for you to sale us few waterblock for our cooling system. We are amateur radio operator in Quebec and ready to pay for this waterblock. Thanks! André VA2WR

Another good video. $250 for a bare-bones psu is a lot!

Compared to buying the core, wire and other parts and doing yourself?

@@marklowe7431 I meant from the view of someone who never strayed from the world of mass-produced, feature-rich 14v equipment. I'm learning that lesson w/ 28v 422's.

my dad wanted to know why you were phased by a transformer, bridge rectifier, and capacitors yet were comfortable with what looked like a complicated (by comparison) transmitter circuit? $250 for an unregulated power supply is eyewatering expensive, yes he understands the high current rating of the transformer makes it more expensive but $250 for an unregulated power supply! what you, missed is that the 60-volt power supply would also transmit mains fluctuations at the ratio of the windings which on 110 volts would be 50%. it may be of course you do not need a regulated voltage but $250 for an unregulated supply. do you know $250 would keep my fashion disability satisfied for at least a week?

Sweet find 😉 Can’t wait till we can buy these pallets. They blow away the foreign imports. And USA Made 😉they will sell like pancakes KC3ONO

How about this one Sharky? 50 amps for 2000 watts kzfaq.info/get/bejne/etybdKuSuN-lnHU.html. That adds up

Damn 2KW on all amateur bands. Now that's awesome!!! That single band stuff is so limiting to the hobby.

For that price, I think I will deal with a $14 HP server PSU modded for 13.8v. I'll deal with the noise.

Hey Sharky -- Why do you keep blocking my comments? As BBI says: " The watts don't lie"
@busarob19693 жыл бұрын
1800 peak watts out put? Come on really? Your input power is , 60.2 volts by 18 amps equals 1083 watts So 1083 watts in, produces 1800 peak watts out put? Lol. 18 amps for 1800 watts ? Come on Sharky . Do the maths . Look at the data sheet and efficiency curves. I question your watt metre ! 166% efficiency ? No way!
@XPCTECH3 жыл бұрын
I agree, also, Why not hook up probe to RF output on Oscilloscope? Actually measure the peak to peak voltage to determine actual output?
@robber5763 жыл бұрын
I am not nearly a tech but i can understand it, 1000 watt DC will convert into 1000 watt RMS sinusoidal which will have a PEAK voltage aprox 1/3 higher then the RMS voltage and so in a 50 ohm load will have a PEAK wattage of over 100%. Right?
@robber5763 жыл бұрын
A 110 volt electric heater 1000 watt. P=U(dc or rms) x I U(dc or rms) =I x R So I=1000:110=9 amp So R=110:9= 12.2 ohm So peakvoltage of 110 rms= 110x sqrt2= 155 volt @ 12.2 ohm So Ipeak= 155:12.2= 12.7 amp Ppeak= 155x12.7=1969 watt His 1800 watts peak sounds to me just about right. Right?
@robber5763 жыл бұрын
Thats why "they" say "peak power doesnt mean shit" Look at 6:53 , just before switching to peak you can see 500 watt rms(or is it average?) 1083 DC watts in: 500 RMS watt @100% mod out=50% eff. Doesnt sound teabag for me, it is at least plausable.
@robber5763 жыл бұрын
robber576 Btw, he is not sticking his rf probe at the output because there would be around 300 volt rf(600 volt peak to peak) and his scope would probably blow up, you need a pretty expensive high voltage rf probe or rf hv attenuator to do that besides a scope is a quality device and not a quantative.
