6G TIG Welding | UREA Grade pipe.
This comprehensive video guide delves into the intricacies of (TIG) welding for urea-grade pipes. Urea-grade pipes are used in critical applications, demanding impeccable weld quality, and the best practices and techniques to achieve top-notch results
Urea-grade pipe refers to pipes that are specifically designed and manufactured to handle the transportation of urea, a nitrogen-rich chemical compound widely used as a fertilizer in agriculture. These pipes are made from materials that are compatible with urea, ensuring that there is minimal risk of contamination or degradation of the fertilizer during storage and transportation.
Urea-grade pipes are predominantly used in the agricultural industry for the distribution of urea-based fertilizers. These fertilizers promote plant growth, increase crop yield, and improve overall agricultural productivity.
Urea-grade pipes are commonly employed in various agricultural applications, including:
Fertilizer Plants: Urea-grade pipes are used in fertilizer manufacturing plants for the internal transport of urea during the production process.

We got a couple fertilizer plants around the house, never thought about the types of pipe they would have. Might have to get in there for a shutdown, great job brother 🤙🏼

Nice job! At the end of your bead before pulling out if you keep walking it while pointing your tungsten forward and up will help eliminate that dark spot at the end. Wait for it to solidify before pulling off all the way

I tried, it’s simply not working that way with that kind of tig torch.

How do you strike your arc? Most of the time I scratch it I end up sticking my tungsten and breaking it.

Just a tip for buddy, I hear you say that you use 2% thoriated tungsten, I'm sure you know that is slightly radioactive and can greatly cause cancer and anatomical deformities. If you havent b4 try some Lanthanated tungsten. It's not radioactive and it's a strong tungsten that lasts, no ill side effects to worry about either!
@X3MTIG
@X3MTIG 11 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy, I am very well aware of that! I’m using both tungsten’s, I am working on eliminating thoriated for good 👍

@@X3MTIG I could never understand why when you pull a slip at Local 488 some Companies want you to test at their own shop rather than at the UA testing facility. Do they not trust our own "in house" Inspector because He is also a UA Member? Whenever I have tested at the 488 shop I have never been treated any different than any other testing facility just because I am a Member of the UA. Perhaps it is more of a cost thing rather than trust. Hard to say. I would say in this scenario they sent you there simply because they do not have that particular welding procedure at our Union Hall. However it is their choice and we have to abide by it. Keep up the good work Brother and stay safe.
@X3MTIG
@X3MTIG Жыл бұрын
@@livepost6986 I think it’s more of a cost thing. If it’s more of a trust thing, then they would hire non union workers.
