As someone who watches Liverpool each week, Trent isn't that bad a defender. He switches off (particularly on crosses to the back post) but the reason he looks bad is because he's overloaded every time. Salah doesn't track back and Elliott often doesn't so he is almost always having to cover two or even three players. The whole team has been misfiring this season and it's pretty unfair to target probably the second best playmaker in the league

Signed him up as a left back into the Championship, and even before the end of that transfer window I was getting Prem bids for him, which was annoying, and half less than I paid for him (which wasn't much since I was managing Middlesbrough...). Yes defensively he’s been very suspect but if you look deeper into his attacking stats he’s playing at the same level however the chances aren’t being put away as often by the forwards. His numbers are suffering as a result of the forwards at Liverpool. Defensively he can definitely improve

The problem with Trent is, whilst he's undoubtably been bad, and other teams have been focusing on him as a weak spot, it glosses over the fact that aside from Allison and Robertson (and even then not all good) the rest of the team has been jaded and poor. The problem really has been the effects of 60 games last season going to the final of every comp and then a short pre-season and a world cup stupidly crammed into the middle of a season. That has all combined to have a bad detrimental effect seemingly on the whole squad. All we can hope is that with a proper pre-season and some new signings next season they'll be recharged and do better. Who those signings will be depends on whether Liverpool get European football at all next season, obviously Champions League is ideal, but getting Europa League is the minimum as winning it garantees Champions League and the season after will be the start of the new European League format, so everything changes for the 24/25 season. The summer is going to be crucial. Some have suggested Trent should move to midlfield, which I think he could do, but the question then is, is Ramsay good enough? do they need another RB? they need 2 midfielders and at least one DC with Matip likely going (and possibly Gomez) as well as the likes of Ox and Keita. I can't see them having the transfer budget to get enough.

It seems like TAA just doesn't have the gift of being able to defend. Like there is only so much you can learn without it just being a natural instinct. While his form has been terrible this season his weaknesses have been exposed many times before.

Thing with Trent is that he went from academy kid to first team star so quickly , Liverpool as a whole and especially Trent himself lifted a bar so high that it was impossible to repeat those figures every single season. But yeah he has a few holes in his defending abilities , marking and reading the game. That's why Klopp is trying to implement him into midfield right now , to take most out of his insane passing and vision but also to move him from the defence but i would rather play him on his real position cuz when he is in form you might concede few goals because of him but you will gain so much more on assists.

For the number 1, this is obvious because it was originally perceived to be a result of the so-called number 9 curse, which was happened for Fernando Torres, Gonzalo Higuain, Romelu Lukaku, and Alvaro Morata. All of those players were having a flop season with number 9 shirt.

Was playing as a centre half for Eintract Frankfurt last season, had his contract terminated by them in Summer 2022, now plays for SGA Sirnitz as a striker (17 goals in 16 games) who play in the FIFTH tier of Austrian football. Over 140 appearances for RB Salzburg and more than 100 appearances for Frankfurt, not to mention 67 caps for Austria. He won the Europa League with Eintracht, then subsequently retired at the age of 29 and signed for his home town club. If there's a quicker turnaround than that, I'd like to see it! TAA would still be considered world class, if he was played as either a right midfielder or winger. He is creative, fast, a good dribbler and great passer of the ball. Gareth Bale started as a left back, but was moved further forward as it suited him better. Why trent's coaches aren't prepared to take the same chance on him and instead keep him struggling in defence, is beyond me.

I feel Fabinho has had a bigger fall from grace than Tent has this season 🤔

The first game i saw son out of form, was crazy. Hé looked like hé lost all confidence hé ever had , in 1 game. Something bad happened to him is what i thought. Hé hasnt recovered from it yet. Like i mean, hé couldnt do anything right that game and ever since..he is struggeling

As a Liverpool fan i can state that his flaws have been the same since he burst on the scene. He's always been an ordinary defender who's awareness goes awol quite frequently. Even at his best he has been exposed, Napoli has done it at least twice in the CL. When he was operating at a world class level, his defensive short comings were covered up by our midfield and the high press of our forwards. I think he is probably best suited as a midfielder. Personally i don't blame him as he's doing what Klopp is asking him to do. The direct comparison is Robertson who defends much better and still delivers assists. Klopp needs to rebuild the midfield.

It's not gonna be Nagelsmann any time soon, so quickly after his sacking. If Levy doesn't penny-pinch, and let Conte see out the season, to avoid extra fees, I see Ryan Mason at the helm at Goodison.

33 is NOT young for a player of Aubameyangs size. To not see the pitch is a helpless, foreign feeling that will destroy a player’s ability. The commitment to training is absurd at this level…only to sit and watch. Don’t forget, we saw Bale go from fastest player in 2017 to retired at 32. Griezman was written off, now back. These guys have played since they were 5. It’s one hell of a journey.

Trent is not as bad at defending as people say. You ignore the 25 good defensive things he does in a game and focus on the 2 mistakes he makes. They didn’t win everything and run away with the league by 20 points in 19/20 if he was as bad of a defender as people say he is. Yes, it is the weakest part of his game but that’s because he is world class going forward. I’ve seen trippier make the same amount of bad mistakes and terrible defending, sometimes more, as he has in games and it’s never mentioned. Him and the liverpool team are currently in a dip in form but of course he gets video after video bashing him, one must wonder why he is feeling so rubbish about himself. Knows no matter what he does, he’s going to be called crap. he’ll be back to his best. Klopp’s system is designed around him getting forward and creating from the back, he is being asked to do 3 jobs at once. He doesn’t have the midfield to cover him so he’s having to track back and get as forward as he is being told to all the time. It’s the way Klopp wants to play and if he was told to only defend for a game, he would be completely fine at defending. But he’s not and Klopp wants him to play freer, a sacrifice in his game that worked when there was a stronger midfield. Next season, when they are back and have a midfield and he is back to his best, I expect to see a video here talking about how it was a one season dip.

You missed the biggest fall from Grace this year: Jurgen Klopp. He has shown himself to be a one-trick pony, wedded to tactics ill-suited to his players, wedded to players who are no longer playing at high standards, and insistent on proving that TAA is a fullback while TAA is proving that he isn't. And Klopp acts as if he no longer cares. I know that your video is focused on players, but Klopp's drop has affected all of the players at Liverpool.
