Thank you for showing the reality of not just the joys of getting accepted, but the struggles of not getting accepted. The competition is incredibly fierce and any outcome is an accomplishment! It takes SO MUCH work to get to an audition. Resilience is key.

What a great attitude Amber! Many of the greats were rejected at first, and it is more than likely that is precisely what drove them to greatness. I think you should ask Josiah to tell Anna about Lincoln's perserverance in overcoming defeat. It is remarkable indeed. Also, something that has never left me was the time you explained how Naomi did not make it into a program in San Francisco. So she turned her attention to something that was offered -- composition. Wow! What a blessing that was as a new talent was tapped into. When one door shuts, another one opens. Three cheers for Anna. With Christ as her guide, she is destined to do great things.♥🙏

Yes, resilience is key! My daughter went to Strings Can.p for the first time last week. She is 10 and it was the first time she slept anywhere without a family member nearby. It was the first time she auditioned for anything (she got second chair, first violin!!), and it was the first time she was with a high caliber orchestra (she's done 2 years with our little one). She was very overwhelmed and ended up asking to move to the back row to relieve some pressure. But next year, she'll try again, and that is all she needs to do: keep trying!

Amber, before the audition day for my daughter (she plays cello too), I told her it is totally okay if you don’t get in, we will just try for the next year and next year. I got that spirit from you! Thank you for being an awesome mom and inspiring other moms!

So sorry to hear this. It’s a very tough way to learn resilience at such a tender age. Keep on keeping on Anna. Success does not depend on Julliard! Your musicianship speaks for itself and your hard work will pay off.

I wish there wasn’t so much pressure for them to get into Juilliard, specifically. And maybe you’ll say there’s no pressure, but there totally is. MUST they keep trying for this very narrow measure of success? Could some of them just go to another equally accredited music school? Josiah does. Why is this so important? I’m not being critical, I think this family is fascinating. But there’s way more to life than getting into Juilliard

Will Noah audition? Or did he? I may have missed something. Good for all!

Juilliard is pricey and you have several kids in Juilliard at the same time. That must be a lot. Are you helping your kid with the tuition fee? Or student loan?
@JFlower78 күн бұрын
If you are good, they have scholarships.

@TheHappyCaravan8 күн бұрын

@sharonhunt9700Күн бұрын
You can’t tell me that all your kids want a career in music. Some maybe, but not all of them. Does Pearl still live at home? Doesn’t she have paid accomodation as part of her scholarship? If so she would benefit from mixing with other musicians and not just her brothers and sisters.
@haileyworld430221 сағат бұрын
@@sharonhunt9700 I agree with you. I felt that not only the kids but also the parents are also sacrificing and compromising! So many kids, how could the two adults take care of their home schooling while there are new borns. Kids need supervision. In the meanwhile, I have no doubt that the couple also sacrifice a lot to achieve their kids’ dream! They probably have sacrificed their own career! Just too many kids with only two adults. That is tons of work. It is a big happy family but will be a little bit too heavy for people like me. I don’t have this kind of courage.
@flupy83438 күн бұрын
What's so special about that school? Don't any of your children want to do something different than study music?
@TheHappyCaravan8 күн бұрын
They can study whatever they like. What makes Juilliard pre college so special is it has music theory, choir, chamber music, orchestra, private lessons. It’s great!

Google it. It’s a top school for music, ballet, etc. VERY difficult to get in. I’m surprised you’ve never heard of it.

I hate this so much for Anna. Maybe this isn't fit her but she wouldn't be allowed to say so, would she? Let's not let anyone stray from the future you have planned for them. Gasp! It would be tragic if she was amazing at STEM activities or a great athlete. Nope. She must attend an over priced school so we can have some bizarre sense of prestige.
@user-tt4rl2et6d8 күн бұрын
Why do all your children have to play an instrument and study music?? Do any of them have any choice at all or is it you n Marc dictating their choices? Seems the latter to me! 👎🥲
@BeaxhBijoux19906 күн бұрын
It does seem to be the latter; they don’t appear to have the option of going to a public school, getting to make or play with friends and many more things all in the pursuit of a potential career in music.
@sharonhunt97002 күн бұрын
Just let the kids be kids. It is Ambers dream for them to go to that music school. Go easy on the eye makeup.
