JetPens I am such a heavy hand writer, with normal five star paper my writing dents through 5 sheets :( and where the grip of a pen would touch my ring finger which is how I hold my pen, there is a bunch of dry and hard skin.

I bought a Pilot Metropolitan two years ago in an effort to alleviate my hand cramps and it's worked wonders for me! I like that it's heavy enough to keep me from gripping it in an effort to not drop it and the ink flow is consistent enough for me to not need to press hard on her page.

Have you tried the Lamy Safari (featured) fountain pen, it's cool! I've used ball/gel pens and my hand get sore quickly, also fountain pens work better if your hands get either greasy and/or oily, as to ball point pens don't like grease and oil!

The Uniball Air is such an underrated pen. I used it on all my timed college essays because it can keep up with my quick cursive and even make it look somewhat legible!

i use the pentel energel pens. not only have they helped me to not press so hard, but being a lefty, i don't have to deal with ink smudge on my hand. these are my favorite pens ever and always recommend them to lefties or to people who want a good smooth pen

I have this issue, thank you for the recommendations! I have found Pilot Kakuno to be a perfect cheap and light fountain pen for writing. Have yet to feel fatigue - a huge improvement over everything else I've tried.

the uniball air is such a good pen, i used to grip my pen quite hard a few years ago and this pen pretty much helped me use a softer grip on all my pens now

It's incredible how much a fountain pen has changed the pressure i apply when writing. My hand used to cramp all the time. The only problem is that im so used to write with a heavy hand that my writing has become so messy 😂 now i gotta write extra slow to make my letters pretty lmao

I recentl;y purchased the Pilot Dr. Grip on your recommendation and I am very happy with it. I have large fingers, so I prefer a larger pen or pencil. Also, after a long career of writing, typing AND carpal Tunnel surgery, I find that the Dr. Grip works very well for me. It is, quite literally, no pain to use. I also intend to try the Uni-Ball Signo. Thanks!

My everyday pen is a Dr. Grip Gel. I love that it is a mix of both worlds. May have to try the Uni-ball 207 though. I used to love their pens but never could find one with a bulky barrel.

Pentel Energel RTX 0.3, needle point, love it and it does help my hand relax and draw lightly now my zen tangling doodle art looks amazingly better! I have the uni-ball 207 plus in a 0.7 but I don't have the the other 207 mentioned here but I'll go and get it, thank you✌🏽💜

I have one of the Lamy fountain pens with an extra-fine tip, and it is now my go-to for all writing. It's so comfortable to hold, especially if you are dealing with arthritis in your thumbs lol.

Fountain pens have done wonders for my ability to write for long periods of time. they can be a little pricey at first, but I think the ability to change ink colors, nibs, etc from one single pen purchase is worth it.

Can you do a video on the different grips (ways to hold) for pens & pencils. I tend to grip my pens/pencils closer to the tip rather than higher up. I want to take nicer notes

I would also recommend the Pilot Hi-Techpoint V5. This pen requires no force to write and ink flows without blockages.

I get an achy hand because I try not to press too hard with a fountain pen, so I grip it too tightly, but I also can't do tick pens as that exhausts my hand too much... Haven't found the best combo yet, my go-to is the Lamy Safari (for obvious reasons) but that's about as thick as a pen can be for me to hold it comfortably.

The uniball signo 207 has a VERY smooth, silky soft grip. I don't enjoy how long it takes for ink to dry tho.

Yes there are people that have hands that weight over 1,000Kg, however, the Lamy Safari pen not only teaches how to hold the pen correctly, also how much pressure to use, later when going back to gel/ball point pens, you will know how to hold the pen correctly and use less pressure!

Honestly, I want to write with a fountain pen because I don’t want to produce waste. And I love my Lamy Safari (first choice anyways when you’re from Germany) with the B-nib. BUT I can’t write long with it for the life of me because of the triangular grip section. My fingers just can’t comfortably hold it.

Try Pentel Energel, Unijestream, or any hybrid ink such as Pilot Acroink, Zebra Surari/blen, Pentel Slicci, Unijestream.. It's better than gel pen. For the Gel pen.. Pentel Energel or Sarasa Mark On.. its phenomenal.

In my experience,I don’t have a very heavy grip because the the pen ink isn’t smooth .I use a lot of pressure to have better control over my letters and I hold super close to the tip.The pens also with the squishy grip I can’t find anywhere so any substitutes I can use?

I have callouses on the part between my index finger and thumb. So as at the middle of my ring finger. I can’t have long nails Cause my nails will act like a claw against my palm and leave marks. TT

The pentel energel I push hard but my hard is so sore so I had to switch the cartridge to a zebra sarasa clip body.

Yup, me too. I don't know why Energel refills is better combines with sarasa clip & uni jetstream cases.. more steady to hold. The fun fact, the unijetsream refill with the cone tip, feel more steady when combined with Pentel Energel case.

We don't have much experience with pens for arthritic users, but we understand that thicker pens with ergonomic grips tend to work better. After a wrist injury, I found that Lamy Safari fountain pen worked well for me. It allowed me to apply less pressure when I wrote, though the tripod grip style doesn't work for everyone.

Does the Pilot Dr. Grip have any squish at all? I ordered a Kokoyu Fitcurve thinking it was a squish grip but I was wrong, so i was wondering it has any squish at all and if it’s stuffed than alpha gel

Thank you for this video because it is painful for me to write. Which pen do you recommend that has a grip on paper like a pencil, where I have control. I hope I explained correctly. Also it grips on paper like gel pens. But I am looking for as stated before a pen that I can have a grip and hold to lessen the pain (in holding it like a pencil and control like a pencil on paper in writing.) Thanks
