Honestly this game seems a lot more difficult to master than remake was for me. Im looking forward to getting good at it though.

It definitely has a more complex system than Remake. Don’t be discouraged by the demo, it throws you in with a lot of pre determined abilities and materia which can get overwhelming at first, the full game will ease you into it better for sure. Can’t wait!

I think just outside of battle? Not sure, can't try atm. But even outside combat switching between the premades I made greatly helps already

No while battling you can’t (so far), but you can change them on the fly before the battle using L1 and picking your preset party comp. Non-party members do help on the sidelines though and I saw that sometimes they can join in for a synergy attack when you’re in a critical scenario.

@@KainRaRPG Ah thanks. I thought we could. It would kinda be busted because then I can switch into a character slotted with an ele weakness that I don't currently have in the party, which would tremendously help the battle. I usually restart the battle when that happens

if you want to treat the game like a turn base there's literally a mode for that

Not “fully” like a turn-based, but its good to remember it has a lot of RPG elements and isn’t just a button masher, at least that’s what I tried to express. Personally I think they outdone themselves in Rebirth and I’m loving the mix of action & strategy.
