I put these together for my husband to make while he’s at our property deer hunting for a week by himself. He put them in the crockpot each morning before he went out for the day and it was waiting for him when he got back in the evening. I cooked chicken breasts ahead of time and put them in individual bags in the fridge. I also cooked the rice ahead of time and put that in the fridge. Total hit, thank you!

I’m always looking for new ideas like this. #1, I wanna keep my pantry rotated. #2, they’re great for those lazy, busy, etc times, and #3, they are great for camping! Doesn’t matter how broke I am, I can also afford a “vacation” by packing a tent and some pantry food! I’ve also seen that bagging these are great for blessing boxes, that way the recipient has everything they need for a full meal. Southern Frugal Momma shares how she puts some together for donating.

Camping is the absolute best cheap vacation !!! As I age I wasn’t enjoying the tent camping as much, crawling out of that little hole to go pee 3x a night, crawling back through that hole with sandy wet feet and always bringing in more mosquitoes to kill before I can go back to sleep, was stealing my joy. So a few years ago I finally found a little 16’ Scamp near me that I could afford…….oh how I LOVE it !!! It makes this getting old lady love camping even more 🥰 Blessings

I love getting ideas of how to combine pantry items for meals. My husband wasn't going to be home for dinner tonight and I just wanted something I could throw together for myself. I had some rice leftover from last night so I simply heated a can of Chicken a la King and poured it over the rice. Very simple but satisfying. It might be a good thing to start getting used to simpler meals.

For the mac n cheese, you can also use a buffalo sauce. Yummy yummy. We do it this way all the time. Kids love it.

Thank you for this. I always struggle looking at fully stocked shelves and wondering what to make for dinner. It's nice to change it up without having to run to the store for an ingredient. Thank you Jinne! I recently cleaned and reorganized my pantry and found a stash of honey. One year I received the Trader Joes, rainbow of honey collection that has Eucalyptus honey. I used this to make your homemade cough syrup. Next time I will make the cough syrup with hot honey. I need to do a better job of rotating through my pantry and these recipes are so needed. ♥🙏

What does everyone think about the ones that claim preppers have mental issues because they prepare? I was asked why in the world would I home can & preserve when I can buy canned goods and fresh produce at the store each week. These people that ask the asinine questions and have their heads in the sand will be the first ones begging at our doors.

You prepare for anything that can happen. Sickness, loss of job, surgery, injury, weather, etc. These people are simply not thinking about the big picture of life.🤔

I have a few spaghetti and pizza bags made up, but you have given me some ideas for more. Thank you! I think the Enchilada Casserole leftovers could also be rolled up in a tortilla as an echillda or burrito.

😝childhood memory of boxed mac n cheese with bbq sauce but that's just me. I like some of the other suggestions. I never thought about adding refried beans to taco soup. I'll have to give it a try. I like the idea of the tomato chili too.

I have a space in my every day working pantry where I want to put weekly meals. I think the bag idea is good but since most people also meal plan, my idea would be just to find a spot in your working pantry to put all the meals for the week and put a copy of your weekly meal plan in there also so you know what you are cooking each day. I even have a box in my storage pantry marked for sick days so I don’t have to think about what to fix. I usually just keep light weight stuff in it and keep heavy cans of soup on another shelf.

I love how your recipes always leave room for options! I wrote every one of these down (plus others you have talked about in previous videos!) These are go-tos for me. My husband never gets the same thing over and over, mainly because I get food fatigue FAST! 😂 Thank you, Jinne! ETA: I made your red beans and rice recipe for my hubby and me, and it made A BUNCH! So I took what was left (after 2 meals😂), and made chicken/rice/bean enchiladas with cheese on top. It was a hit!

I have some emergency meal bags put away. One of them has a box of Stove Top stuffing, plus a jar of chicken, a can of chicken gravy, and a can of green beans. It makes a great casserole. I have some meals with a couple of packages of those already cooked rice pouches. They come in chicken, Mexican, and Chinese flavors. Even the Walmart store brand ones are good! You can also use a box of Uncle Ben's rice, a jar of chicken, chicken gravy, and a can of water chestnuts for crunch. I have a breakfast bag with a can of Spam, some of those dehydrated hash brown potatoes, and some powdered eggs. You could add a small pack of shelf stable cheese, like Velveeta, or nacho sauce. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for some more great ideas!

I'm essentially making the meal you mentioned at the top of your post for dinner tonight. The only thing different is I am also using instant mashed potatoes and I use chicken broth to hydrate my potatoes and stuffing. I layer all in a casserole dish. I'm waiting for it to heat through as we speak😊

I think Thrive dehydrates their carrots. Carrots turn white after awhile if they’ve been freeze dried.

I have the thrive life diced carrots and love them. I throw a handful or 2 of them when I cook rice as it adds veggie to the rice. They stay orange. I add them to stews and anything that needs onions, carrots and celery for a beginning of mire poix. I don't use them as a regular side dish, I use them as an addition to a recipe.

@@jayc6159 from what someone else said that their dehydrated carrots stay orange, I'm wondering if you got a bad canister. I'm sure that they would refund your money or send you a new canister. Did you eat them or throw them away?

We can our own chicken, it saves a ton of money and I know all the ingredients. A store bought brand could be used as well.
