Hiya! 🤗 People are asking about the healthy cookie recipe. Here's what I do: 3 ripe bananas 125 gr rolled oats (1.5 cups) 3 tbsp peanut butter 30 gr raisins (about 1/5th of a cup) cinnamon bit of salt Mash bananas and add the rest of the ingredients to form a sticky 'dough'. Form little balls in your hands of about 5 cm (2 inches) and press them on a baking tray until you have a cookie of about 2 cm thick (1 inch). Bake in the oven for about 15-18 minutes on 180 degrees Celcius (356 F). Check if they're nice and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool a bit before transfering them, to make sure they don't fall apart. Enjoy! :)

Hi, I am 71 and my biggest bit of advice is never to say ‘I’m too old’. In my forties I took up tae kwon do and trained to black belt. In my fifties I changed career and became a nurse. I am now recently retired and thinking about what I can do next. Try and keep a positive mindset, you never know what the future holds ❤️😀

I learned to ride bi-cycle when I was 37 yrs.because I understood that being in netherlands. If you don't bike, you will miss out a lot of fun that comes along with it. P.s I never took help of friends. Found a trainer through website and enrolled for training. Do it yourself and don't wait for help. Because you will later realise that it was waste of time waiting for others to help you.rather just get started and universe will play its part to protect your intention.

@ataylor3202 I am just realising it all at 39! I feel like I've never once stopped to understand myself my whole life and now I feel like I've spent years doing things I don't really like to do, jobs that never suited my personality, friends that are just so different to me (but I never realised because I was just drifting along.) I feel so empowered and ready to continue my life with intention, good luck with your journey xx

I am 63 and what you have to look forward to is: being free from your hormones - as they decline many see it as a sadness..it is a blessing to flip things that are biologically driven to making a choice! Not caring about others opinions... living your best life on your terms. I hope that gives you some hope for the future..it really does get better but it's a different life - the ones that struggle are those who are trying to hang on to the you in your 30's,40's,50's... being the best you can be at your age. Life really does move fast as you get older. I’m going to be 57 next week and due to dealing with chronic illnesses the last 20 years I do still feel envious of people who are healthy enough to travel and can afford it. But I am finally in a better mental state as far as who I let into my life now. It took me until my 40’s to finally stop allowing toxic people in my life. It really is true what they say about being in your 50’s and finally not caring what others think about you.

I love being in my fifties too. Boomers are still trying to tell me what to do with my time and how I should behave but I am finally no longer afraid of what they think of me. I think the lockdowns gave me a small taste of freedom. It is so important to me now to make sure my children feel that freedom to be themselves and live their own lives according to their own personality and values right from the start.

I turned 38 beginning of this year and I have spent my 30s chronically ill and living with a brain tumor. And my life just isn’t and never will be normal i suppose (not operable) but I’m said to live a long life) just with many struggles and symptoms. I feel robbed of my 30s and I wonder if there is a way to not feel that way about my 40s too. I will admit living ill has also allowed me to shut out the toxic people from my life too. And that is definitely one huge improvement that has come from the cards that I’ve been dealt. Hopefully I’ll have no caring what people think about to look forward too in my 50s too.

One thing that really put life into perspective for me was when I turned 60 and someone said to me, welcome to your 7th decade of life. Even though I had been a math teacher, it took me a bit to realize that was true. I have already lived 6 decades and am now in my 7th decade of life. No time to waste or worry. Just enjoy it. ❤

I'm 40, have travelled by myself, worked out who i am and that i don't actually want kids. And then one day a man started working in another department at my work and we've now been together 7 years. Neither of us were looking for live and both happily single. Hi from across the ditch! 🇳🇿

Like many of the “older” commenters here, I can confirm that life goes very quick. If you have dreams/aspirations to do anything, do it now. With regard to friends. We have very few friends in life. We can normally count them on one hand. True friends should never be confused with social acquaintances, which we may have many. 🙏

I am 40. I used to have the same fear that you described of throwing a party and nobody wanting to come, or not having people to invite. I have realised its really fun to throw a little party and invite all kinds of people, including people you met two days ago. I have done this a few times this year and we have had the best time every time. So I guess in my 40s Im realising that we all have way more potential for social fun and silliness than we thought!

In my early 20s, my work ethic as an aspiring doctor was egregiously taken advantage of to the point to where I was in an all around debilitative state at the end of my twenties. In my 30s, I am getting to figure out who I am. I am setting strict boundaries with myself and others. I get to be a human being and not a human doing. I just get to enjoy more freedom without worrying someone is watching me, grading me, going to judge me, you name it. Thank you for the video. ☺️

Our hard and painful times help to make us stronger and more resilient. You seem to have grown in wisdom as a result. Bravo for being reflective and learning to value the really important aspects of life. - I’m about to turn 76, in good health and living fully. The last decade has possibly given me the most joy. Retired from a fascinating career as a research scientist, I’m now very active caring for our large acreage. I love tending my vegetable garden and small orchard, observing the wildlife, watching the sunrise, while sipping the first cup of coffee on my deck, cherishing my small but very special circle of friends and my family. The older I get, the more I appreciate all the myriad strengths and talents of other people. - You are on the right path!

@@jess53nz I’m awfully sorry that you’re “in the club.” First, you have to grieve. Whatever you have has changed your life drastically, and your old identity is transforming into something new. Believe it or not, there will be GREAT things, but you have to face the loss. Give yourself ALL the time you need. #2 Learn as much as you can about your illness through research and people who have it. Being an informed and proactive patient is essential. Not all doctors are equal, and finding a team that supports you 100% is essential. A chronic illness means that this team you curate will be your literal bodyguards. There will be times you are emotionally fragile, and if you ever need to go up against insurance, you need people to guard you like a lion. #3 Find shortcuts in your routines. Zone your house, minimize steps, energy, and CLUTTER! other sites to explore on this are The Minimal Mom, Clutterbug, and A Slob Comes Clean (Dana White). I’d love to hear more…. God bless you ❤️‍🩹💖

Love your videos, Vera! I’m almost 63 and it took me a *lot* longer to learn these things you’re talking about. I only found out I was HSP in 2020 & it gave me such a deeper, clearer insight into why I’ve naturally done things so differently than others! An observation regarding friends in your 30s-40s… A majority of people in that age group are having families and raising kids so their time is often taken up by that. I didn’t have kids so it was sometimes hard to connect with people my age. Now that most of my peers are empty nesters, I have almost *too much* of a social life for this HSP, which presents a brand new challenge! Thanks for all you do! ❤️

I think it boils down to contentment. When I turned 50 (16 years ago 😳) I remember thinking that a burden had been lifted. I never had kids by choice but the constant questions about that choice really felt like pressure. At 50 they stop asking 😁!! I remember thinking that my life as a woman was finally my own as it had been prior to puberty.

I am 56 now and have struggled, ever since I got married with 29, to adjust to life in the US (being German), to have a husband who worked/still works way too much, feeling lonely a lot and having given up friends and family. I am finally back home but have several illnesses now. It is really important to enjoy life every moment and do the things you want to do or that are important to you when you´re younger. You never know when your possibilities will get restricted, so live the life you want to live right now.

As someone who’s 22 and a confirmed HSP thanks to watching dozens of your videos, I’ve finally been able to accept who I am including my worries, anxieties, personal needs, and the people and things that overwhelm me. Growing up I always somehow invited toxic people into my social group, and I’ve just recently started to let them go. I’ve been told by family many times that I haven’t “fully experienced life yet” which is true in some ways, but you’ve helped me see that what I have experienced so far is valid. I hope that when I reach my 30s I’ll be prepared to tackle those new challenges while prioritizing myself in the process. I believe I’ll be more mentally equipped for the journey thanks to your advice. Thank you for inspiring me to look deeper and reminding me that I’m not being selfish by choosing not to do something. This has helped me quit worrying so much and definitely relieved a lot of my FOMO.

I’m turning 34 in November, and can honestly say, after graduating last year with my Master’s as a librarian, being in the 30’s has been a challenging, yet better decade for me than my 20’s. In my 20’s it was always about school, work and immature young men in relationships, but now as a single woman, I am learning what I want and who I want, in the future, and am comfortable embracing myself or trying new things to reinvent myself, in the meantime. This version of me feels like someone who is more confident and has higher standards now, whether dating in the future or not. Being happy is also easier at this time, because I’ve embraced who I am and accept that not everyone will always stay around in life because of that. But this is about gratitude, for the people who do stay in my life and the new people I may meet in the future, who don’t try to change me into the girlfriend they want, but instead accept the level that I’m at now. Growth is always still happening, but I don’t want to change the crux of who I am for a man who won’t stay, anyway. It’s not aligning with my values anymore, to sacrifice that.

I would say, at least for me, that many of the things you mentioned are felt at this age, but on a perceived deeper level at times... maybe bc you keep relearning the lessons as you age so there's even more depth and resonating with each growth moment. You also begin thinking about your legacy, which motivates you to try new things and challenge the boundaries. You realize how precious life is, in a whole new way :-)

A great part of age 55 is that instead of feeling pressure to be like or live like those I see or follow on social, I take it all as suggestions or ideas that may or may not work for me. I recently bought a suitcase and rain jacket that were highly recommended by a KZfaq travel expert, but not because I felt pressured to have the latest and greatest. Only because the items fulfill my needs and preferences. So I can appreciate the recommendations now instead of being pressured or bullied by them. 😊

Hey Vera I am 36 this Monday and also had a burnt out at 28 for similar reasons. I enjoy your videos and have been watching them for a while. 😊 In answer to your question... in my 30's I have learnt more about self awareness and the art of slowing down. Two vital things you discuss. But also how family (as relationships) bring me joy when I spend time with them so I as I value this. I am planning to more closer to home to enjoy their company which supports me and my wellbeing. Thanks for sharing.❤

You are wise for your age so don’t sweat the coming years. I identify with so much of what you said here, except I have only in the last 3 years (I’m almost 60) learned I am HSP, about toxic people, about trusting myself, gaslighting, etc etc. You will thrive in your 40s & 50s. The hard part is not recognizing that face and body in the mirror, and in my case, feeling like a whole brand new person with no history, because I’ve fundamentally changed so much with my new empowerment. My main advice is, continually feel gratitude for all the little good things in life, it gives me a very deep sense of peace and joy.

I think we should normalize comparing and not suppress those feelings or telling people they are wrong. It can be many things: unprocessed loss, insecurity, trauma with siblings. People get so uncomfortable when someone tells them they envy them. Why not react compassionately, connect, let their feelings be. And then they will feel better much quicker. Jealousy doesn't mean they don't want you to be happy, it just means it triggers something underneath. ❤

You find comfort confidence and peace in the wisdom you've gained in your earlier years and live more true to your values and not that of others. Iam Christian so having God as the centre of my world helps guide my life path.

Turning 43 this year, you are looking to strengthen what started already now. Most probably you will prioritize even more people and activities that bring joy into your life. We had kids around the age of 32, which is a small or bigger game changer. Since that lifetime just runs like crazy! I have my list of what activities / places / music / films / books, etc. are good for charging my batteries. It helps me to quickly remember those and grab it when running low. I still keep working in corporate, but also building side income to quit my job later. Time outside of business hours is valued more and more. Hope you will enjoy being older. Couple of months back, I realized that if multiple people will talk at my funeral (members of my family, neighbours, colleagues, friends), some of them would have not much to say. Not knowing me well or not being in touch, or not having many from some category. Running too long, wish you long and happy life!

What do you have to look forward to? Knowing yourself better. As I’m also an hsp, I’m very aware that everyone has different strengths and abilities and that I shouldn’t expect myself to be who I am not. And finally being able to be more assertive in asking for what I need has been a big help for me.

Growing older through many challenges & losses never fails to remind me of the preciousness and the beauty of life: being able to perceive beauty keeps us young at heart: "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", I see that more and more as I grow older - what a privilege to grow older I am grateful to life in so many ways! I don't pretend to be anything I am not any more, and it's given me confidence. As for what you have to look forward to Vera, I think 40's and 50's are just an extension of what you already have, with a little extra maturity sprinkled in 😅. Just know you will not feel any different in your mind . And I also love JOMO 😊 Thanks for another great video ❤

I am 48. I loved my 30s and being more settled in my life. My 40s have been a lot of walking away, trying and stopping. I have minimized myself because I've felt less than, and not very successful. These setbacks have guided me to myself, and what's important in life. If I can give you one tip, it is to research perimenopause to know what to expect and be prepared to advocate for yourself (it starts anywhere from 35-45). I believe many of my struggles were tied to perimenopause. Basically all the things happening in your body are related, not separate issues. Your 40s can be empowering and a time to stand in your own truth and power. ❤

I am in my mid 50s. I think you know yourself better as a person. There is growth from overcoming obstacles. There is greater knowledge, wisdom and discernment in dealing with people’s different personalities. I find I am learning more about nutrition and trying to eat better and to avoid or minimise foods that are not good or great for my health. I do like to go to restaurants as much as I can, to savour foods and gourmet experiences. I think channels like yours help us to enjoy simple pleasures like a good cup of coffee or tea, or a home made meal that we like. I am gradually trying to improve my food preparation rituals in a more mindful manner. When you are older, you have benefits from compound interest on your investments and you plan for a secure future. Even though I have travelled the world on some trips, there is also the joy and dream of further trips and experiences- to go to new places to immerse yourself in the culture, to learn a foreign language and to try to converse with the locals.
