I've been following you for a long time now, you have always been a comfort zone for me, I come to watch your videos whenever I feel misunderstood and tired. I hadn't seen this one yet and I burst into tears after 5 minutes. I burned out about 2 years ago and I learned at that time like you that I was hightly sensitive. Since then I must try to learn to live taking this trait into account to never return to my burnout, I love this side of me, I learned to love it and today i feel valid thanks to your video, it deeply moved me, learning the scientific facts that you mention, the functioning that it implies, I felt understood, valuable, unique and at the same time not alone in the world. Thank you very much Vera

I seldom comment on videos. But I really love your sharing. ❤ I completely resonate with what you said, at the starting point of my 30's.

Whether or not I look at a clock doesn’t matter for me. My brain still acts like it’s daytime. And it takes me a couple hours to fall asleep. I have General Anxiety so that factors in. So trying not to stress is easier said than done.

Funny how the Dutch settled New York City (and outskirts) aka New Amsterdam and while we still maintain some of the Dutch culture we also have moved so far away from it. I am born and raised in Brooklyn (Breukelen). I can see the Dutch influence of our local architecture. Thank you. Good video to watch while you're "niksening".

I would love a video about natural beauty and not using Botox. I also have chosen not to use fillers or Botox.

Yeah the amount of products makeup & lifestyle influencers show off it's exhausting keeping up and makes you feel like you need to have it to be successful and happy.

Living somewhere with four seasons is much harder in terms of storage, but I think it’s easier to be content with your wardrobe because you are swapping out your clothes every few months due to weather changes. By the time you may be getting a little tired of repeating outfits, you have new weather patterns so new clothes to pull out.

Take a stroll, away from the source of stress or observing people especially toddlers. Love the way they pick themselves up after every trip. A reminder for us to carry on with the day with that level of zest!

Hello, I loved learning about your culture. My Aunty is a 'Dutchy' and I also know of another former family member and he certainly fitted the "rude" directly spoken person. I love some of these suggestions / traditions you share and they are wonderful things to practice in our life. Thank you for sharing this. I come from the Croatian culture and they are pretty direct people, but being born and raised in Australia with parents who adopted their new Country of living well, I can't speak confidently about some of the Cultural traditions, particularly as I age and they become more removed from my daily life. Perhaps it's time for me to investigate and connect with my own family culture again. That said, I like the sound the way "Dutchies" do life. Thank you 🙏🌷🌿

My legs are very pale as well and I've had the same insecurities. I appreciate your videos encouraging a natural approach and being secure in ourselves no matter what anyone says we "should" look like. :)

I appreciate all your videos. The fair skin type videos such as legs, etc I completely relate to and feel encouraged as I'm allowing my also naturally wavy hair to be wavy more often, and how to optimize the waves, and letting my pale legs show without sunless tanners. I appreciate you!

I'm 41 and what I regret is not listening to my body and accumulating damage by pushing through what was just a minor injury to leave lasting impacts. When I think I may have another 40 odd years in this body, then I wish I'd looked after it more so far. I've learnt the hard way. I want a body that allows me to live my life (nothing spectacular) with energy and not in pain for as long as possible. As for looks, learning to appreciate the human behind the mirror without anyone's validation is most important. If we just use looks or aging as another stick to beat ourselves with, it's a sad life. What can grow stronger and stronger, is our inner person and that's always in our power.

You are wise for your age so don’t sweat the coming years. I identify with so much of what you said here, except I have only in the last 3 years (I’m almost 60) learned I am HSP, about toxic people, about trusting myself, gaslighting, etc etc. You will thrive in your 40s & 50s. The hard part is not recognizing that face and body in the mirror, and in my case, feeling like a whole brand new person with no history, because I’ve fundamentally changed so much with my new empowerment. My main advice is, continually feel gratitude for all the little good things in life, it gives me a very deep sense of peace and joy.

Nail buffers are nice for a bit of natural shine without using nail varnish, if you're not in the mood. Using them feels quite soothing.

I thought I was the only one weird that never changes phone- I bought mine in 2018. Still uses it. I also choose classic phone case so I do not have to change it every time. Life is beautiful outside iPhones. I only receive messages and notifs from people I know in person, if they want to know abt me they should meet me. No social media no tiktok. More peace of mind, less stress.

I agree with all of your points except the air fryer. I live in a very hot climate and the air fryer and instant pot keeps the house cooler in a climate where it is hot 7 months of the year. On the other hand, I never use a blender or food processor.

I agree with most of this except the skincare. First, skin care is important in general and you typically don't need to buy them expensive. However, if you have very sensitive skin or medical conditions, your self-care will be more expensive.

Love the video thank you! Do other highly sensitive people feel the pressure and feel drained by the 'hustle culture' we are living in where people are constantly looking at side hustles and working ontop of their full time job? As a highly sensitive person, the two days off to recharge are vital but other people don't seem to understand and often feel judged that I am not constantly 'on the go'
