I was just about to say how inspiring you are and someone else beat me to it. I save a lot of money too. I make my own ecological washing powder that works 100% better and costs about 4p (English) a load (or less). I make my own face and body cream. Again, it works much better and costs much less. I am working on other items I can make instead of buy. Two powerful ways of getting more money are: I buy in bulk and I don't ever do credit; I save up instead.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I hope all aspects of your life are better. I retired last year at age 58 after 25 years of teaching and moved from California to Florida (no personal income tax here, so I save more of my pension). Have met new people and have never been more relaxed in my life!

Wow, You look so terrific here Frederique! I hope you are feeling better. I don't wear heels because I live in the mountains and the terrain is too rough. I just had surgery for a hiatal hernia, which is nothing compared to your emergency surgery, but I do know how challenging the recovery can be. Coffee here is $5.50 and decided to give up coffee, feel so much better. As coffee restricts blood vessels have never felt so much better in my life. Saving was over1100 per year. Sorry to hear of your motor bike accident . I too got burnt on the exhaust of the motor bike it was agony. So many people do this too. So many good hacks in this video. Good luck on your new life. My goodness! Your accident and recovery…wow! You look well in spite of the medical conditions and you continue to inspire. I greatly appreciate the new direction in which your channel is moving. When you got to make up, I was thinking, ” I’m not alone?!?” At 52, I’ve pared down to my favorite eyeliner, mascara, a blusher/bronzer, and a tinted lip balm. I straightened the eyebrows with a hint of Vaseline (dermatologist recommended; “No on is allergic to recycled dinosaurs” he said) and sometimes add a hint of the bronzer to brighten them up a bit. I keep a powder compact to do the occasional under eye but that’s it. No more $60 foundations that would rub off onto other people, their clothing, my clothing…no more $40 lipsticks that end up on the rim of a cup or glass. No more excess of anything. Winter is here and I just want my skinny jeans and a black turtleneck top; that’s it. It suddenly kicks in one day that you just don’t care about the “fancy” things so much. My mother helped my aunt move recently and on the first night, they unpacked a few things to look for something in which they could drink some coffee. All they could find was the China, and the stuff that no one actually ever uses. Less IS more and unshackling yourself from materialism is liberating. Bless all and may you find peace in simplicity.

Less is more is only liberating if you have a choice. Poor people don’t. Their “lifestyle” is not a choice. It is a necessity. There is something unseemly about making a virtue of spending less and buying less when you have the choice and yet looking askance or down on those who are poor and unable to make the “choice” and must “make do” with less. Next thing you know we’ll be praising people who live in tents - “by choice.”

Very interesting video! I'm so glad you are healing from your accident. I hope someday you can create a video with ideas on how to dress well/classy in hot weather. I live in the desert and find it difficult to dress well. Luckily, we have cold weather here 🏜 and I can wear my winter clothes. But during summers, I find it difficult to dress in a style that works after age 50.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I am glad you are doing well now. I only use tea bags for hot tea and iced tea. I hate that coffee drinkers get free refills and tea drinkers have to pay for a new tea bag every time. I don’t want to use the bag over and drink beige water. Coffee drinkers are not offered watered down coffee with each refill.

Ciao @Frederiquebros regarding cost of living-- I'm here in Gela, Sicily since 2017, from USA. I have a furnished 4 room apartment for 400€/month. It's also walking distance to the sea. It's not as pretty as your apartment with the pool, but good for my husband & I. I've become somewhat of a minimalist since leaving our 3/2/2 home in America. Its liberating. I am planning to move from NY to Bali in a couple of years. My son- in -law is from Bali and he and my daughter want to move back there. His family is there too. They asked us to move . I think it will be a great place to live! Your videos are very inpirational!

I had a short visit to magical artistic Bali in 2007. While I’m not spiritual, I was intrigued by the many shrines attached to everything. Best wishes to you and your new life there. Could you do a video on clothing to wear in tropical weather? Especially for travers who need to respect local culture while being comfortable.
