10 years ago, I escaped from a very abusive relationship. He isolated me completely from my family and friends. It took me a couple of years to pluck up the courage to leave him, taking our 2 young kids with me. We just had one holdall with our stuff and crashed with a friend. 10 years later, my kids are grown up but they are still so grateful that I made that decision. It hasn't been easy , but with the help of food banks, working all the hours I could, we made it! My kids are now 21 and 18 and they regularly say that I am their role model! Big hug xxx

Recently I ran across this pearl of wisdom (regarding toxic people) that I think you will enjoy! "I don't walk away to teach people a lesson. I walk away because I learned my lesson. I'd rather adjust my life to your absence, than to adjust my boundaries to your disrespect." The bottom line - true friends don't violate boundaries. Wishing everyone health & happiness ❤

My dad died when I was 10 and left my mom widowed at age 47. He died suddenly. She wasn't working out of the home then. When I was sixteen, my brother died suddenly and his wife was only 30 with two young boys. She only worked part time. I knew from that age on I needed to and wanted to take care of myself financially. Both women, along with my aunts who were widowed young, taught me strength and resilience. I was very lucky to have strong role models.

This was one of your best videos I’ve seen my love. As a newly 72 yr old… the elder women in your life gave you the same wonderful advice my mom gave me. Even in my marriage I had my own little bank account. I worked to pay my credit cards and to help with family extras and for savings. I handled the finances and knew when and how everything was paid. I heard stories of men cheating and not paying mortgages and necessities and leaving the wife and children in horrible situations. I’m sorry that you had an abusive experience but happy you loved yourself enough to walk away. Love from NYC

Thank you for this video. My grandmother shared very similar lessons. Instead of yelling we girls were taught "parle avec tes yeux - speak with your eyes" when dealing with angry situations. Otherwise direct eye contact with strangers was rude and to be avoided. It sometimes made others think we were being aloof instead of polite. We saved the crazy for family and close friends..lol! And my cheeks still hurt remembering the pinches to bring color to my face!

This video was very informative. Thank you. As the mother of 3 adult daughters, I have been telling them for years that one of the best gifts they can give themselves is financial independence. The 2 eldest, in their early 30s, have achieved this and I’m proud of them. My youngest is in year 5 of an 8 year university program. I don’t doubt that her future is bright.

Such a heartfelt video - thank you. So true that every woman needs to take care of her finances so if anything goes wrong she is able to get herself a new and better life. You never mentioned education - when I was 32 my life went from luxury to penury, but I had several practical qualifications, as well as university qualification. Education is so important and qualifications, especially skill like hairdressing, chef, dressmaking will always enable you to earn money. Another thing I found important was not to worry about things that I could not alter - but to take positive actions over the things I could alter. Thank you for your caring sharing video.

Thank you Frederique, lots of kisses to you too. Great advice. Health is the most important thing in my life, because without health, everything in life comes more complicated. Hi Frederique, I really enjoyed this video so much so that I watched it twice. The point that resonated with me the most was toxic relationships...you're right, life is too short. With me (and I'm sure YOU too), a lot of relationships that go sour boil down to jealousy more than anything else, and I'm 69. Some of us age differently. Go figure!

You look fit and fabulous,Frederique. Luv the hair, lip color, top anr overall vibe❤ Your points are timeless, and TIMELY. Reminds me i have some work to do👍 Thankyou for your transparency. So glad you exercised your personal boundaries and left that relationship. You took a major hit, ansorbed much loss. You got up and pushed thru the grief of loss. Loss never really gets easier, resiliance however, gets stronger and helps us thru. Capricorn(like Aries,Libra and Cancer) is a cardinal sign. This means action, initiation. You get knocked down, you stand back up. My mom was a Capricorn. She had more resiliance in her pinkie toe than most anyone else I have known and she beat so many odds and lived to be 100. If there really is any truth to it, the earth signs are a pretty tough lot. Grounded. Practical. This has been my experience with others. Oh, I wanted to say that I have been seeing channels that appear to be korean highlighting street fashion with very strong european, particularly French influences/sensibilties. Qnyone else seeing these channels popping up?

My hairdresser told me I have beautiful skin. I said I wear sunscreen. She asked if that was my secret? I said I’ll be 61 in May. She said “You don’t look 61!” Sunscreen really works! Along with washing my face every single night. I lost my precious daughter 8 years ago from cancer. I’m sorry for your losses. I had surgery for colon cancer last November. I was lucky it was early so no chemo, thank God!🙏When my daughter passed away, a so called friend told me I was lucky that I knew what she died from!! I was furious and haven’t spoken to her since. I couldn’t believe how insensitive and in compassionate someone could be. Thank you for your videos beautiful lady! 😘🥰😍

I learnt to be financially independent after my divorce. Never trust anyone is hard but the only way to survive in this world. Check ups in Australia… why is it so hard to find a good GP!!!

Oh my goodness, we are very much alike. I too ran from an abusive husband after 15 yrs. I’ve had many love relationships since but never remarried. Red flags fly and I’m gone!

Great lessons in this video Frederique, for women of all ages. I think one of the most important is to be financially independent so you are not stuck- in a bad relationship, for example- because of money. Your own financial security has many other collateral benefits such as the confidence it creates and it’s a great example to your children.

Bon jour Bella! What a really great, heartfelt video. You touched on so many topics of interest. Each one can be broken down as a topic of interest. First, I want to thank you for reminding all women to take care of their health and to keep up to date with their mammograms. Breast cancer is starting to feel like it’s becoming an epidemic. Seriously. I’m starting to wonder if there’s something in the air with so many countries shooting off their missiles. Who knows. It’s just mind boggling. Secondly, I am so very sorry you ended up with that vile, evil man. It brought tears to my eyes when you said he sold your baby, your doggie. How can anyone be so cruel. That angers me deeply. That’s a real nightmare. I’m sending you hugs because if this breaks MY heart I can only imagine what it did/does to yours. I’m sending you hugs and much love. Now I need my Kleenex. ❤❤❤
