You guys are lucky that all the athletes are so supportive, like with using each other's tacky... My last competition, a few of us did not have tacky, and the athletes that had tacky with them was so selfish and made bad remarks towards people asking them for tacky all the time... But at a previous competition those same guys asked for tacky and other athletes gave them.

Great vid Mitch. I sounds like you and many of the strongmen and women realise the value of talking to the fans. You were the one person I wanted to meet at the Arnold's and you kindly gave me a moment of your time. As fans we massively appreciate it and we then support you more which in turn helps grow your brand. I have unfollowed a couple of strongmen who's attitude changed after I met them and they got bigger in the sport. We do all look up to you and its great when you remain humble, fun and approachable. Can't wait to see you hold that WSM trophy dude. And keep up thengreat content, Gryphons rule!

What an enjoyable video, Super Hooper. Thank you for sharing insights into your experience. The class the athletes show in Strongman both in the way they engage with each other and us fans is really special. You guys and girls are the one sport that genuinely and consistently provides good role models in my opinion. You're not only the strongest people on the planet but also seem to be some of the best people on the planet.

Here are 7 things I learned in 2022 about strongman. 1. They are very strong 2. The top brass all seem nice 3. Mass moves weight 4. A powerbelly is a belly, but powerful 5. Lots of strong "new"comers like Pavlo, Hooper, Stoltmans and Novikov 6. They do be eating a lot 7. Dont touch them without asking first, especially if they're hungry

Stoltmans have been competing professionally since at least 2016 lol. They're both veterans of the sport. Novikov has been competing professionally for at least 4 years.

@10:47 the word you're looking for is spectacle. Without spectacle strongman isn't as fun to watch. It's when the spectacle takes precedence over safety is when competitors get hurt but it needs to be there.

A thought on "well-roundedness": it is the number of competitors which amplifies the weaknesses but not the strengths. Take the Arnolds 2019, with Thor and Mattheusz. Matt won four events (!) but lost due to a (not so) weak deadlift. Had the number of competitors been less, this weakness would not have had the impact it had and he could have won the contest. A way out would be to privilege the win. (As Brian Shaw puts it: #2 is first loser.) Depending on the number of contestants, give the winner one or two extra points (or maybe also #2). There is a penalty for zero performance (which can still be taxing), why is there no bonus for a win?

Yes, top 3 every event, and one event per comp where you are about 4th from last, is about what you need to compete. Sorry, but Evan Singleton is supposed to be a "heel" of gosh no, he is not a good "heel", best "heel" I've seen is maybe Thor or Mariuz. Frankly strongman needs more funding before you have guys you hope lose ... Honestly, Martins is the guy I'm least excited to see win currently, mostly cause I think Nick names the start with "The" aren't creative or interesting hence why I never call Eddie "the beast" or Oberst "the American monster" or Thor "the mountain". Sorry if you need "the" in front of your nickname, you aren't trying hard enough to earn a nickname, the exception is situations like the Stoltman brothers or the Stoltmans it's kinda branding kinda nickname kinda not. Or the greatest strong man / the goat. Weather you want to give that to Shaw or kaz of big z or Mariuz or Magnus. See if Eddie had called himself Eddie "the" hall effect, that would have been hilarious because "the hall effect" is an electromagnetic effect involving Eddie currents. The issue is probably only like 1-2% of WSM fans would get that joke. But it would at least be clever and showed that the can be used in a way that isn't boring. Big Z, iron biby, big Tex, t-rex and the likes are great nicknames not using "the".

So many fans need to understand tip #4. It’s 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 business 👏🏻 !!! FAQ dumb question numero uno on social media has got to be: “Why is so and so at this event, he never wins anything?” Simple answer: Because he puts people in the paid seats. Pro sports aren’t recreational, they are money making entertainment businesses. You want recreation then go down to your local gym and watch some dude lift. You want exciting entertainment then buy a ticket to watch rookie Buzz Lightyear smoke a guy in a Yoke.
