To add on to #1: Don't vape around your birds either! Recent studies have shown that vaping is even worse than smoking. It have crystallize in your lungs and created a popping or crackling feeling whenever you breath, and it's irreversible. Anyways, rip I love candles and I want to own a couple birds when I move out. I wonder if I light it in a closed off room away from my future birds. Not really worth the risk though.

I didn’t know about candles being harmful. A candle is currently burning in my home with my bird right now and now I’ve learned not to do that anymore. I’m glad I watched this video and you could educate me.

Thank you for this video. I have over 11 parrots in my home, more than half of them are recuses. This video helped a lot. My home is a smoke free environment, as I have serval birds with breathing problems. I actually didn’t know about sprays, so I will definitely removing those from my home, as well as the air freshener. Oh yes, I know about paint. I always paint the room, only if my birds are always in the basement when I paint, as there’s no vents down there and there’s no risk of them breathing it in. Yes, cooking around birds is terrible. My friend lost her bird that way. I always use brooms and/or soap in my bird room, and when I do use soap, I always make sure it’s completely dry before bringing the birds back in. I saw a post on facebook yesterday saying that a woman had cooked turkeys in a cooking bag and the fumes from it had killed 10 of her budgies! She said it was brands like reynolds and jenny-o, worth knowing especially with christmas time coming up!

The metal in the wick in candles is why they are a NO NO. Add blow dryers to your list too, but u can use only ceramic blow dryers. I just allow mine to air dry in a really warm room. Recently its been going around that someone lost 9 birds to using turkey cook bags- just something to be aware of especially with all the holidays this time of the year. Gypsy is adorable she reminds me of a 26 year old grey i rehabbed a couple years ago- he was in such bad shape when i got him but he turned out to be an amazing bird. I named him Yori which means Trust. Perfect name for him. :) he didnt make much noise either, a lot of greys are very quiety from what ive seen they arent crazy chatty like amazons but when they do make noise its awesome Yori only said hello but he mimicked about 15 wild bird calls perfectly and did a number of whistles and video game sound effects! :) anyways love all your videos you make me want to start vlogging too. :)

very good info! I rescued an african grey from a hoarding situation once, and he started having seizures when we got him to my house. Turns out he was having nicotene WITHDRAWLS?!?!!? Quick tip! I know it’s nearing the holiday season and people love candles and other things making their homes smell nice, but we also love our feather babies and don’t want them to get hurt. Put on lotion! It’s not enough of a smell that it can harm your bird, but it’s enough that it will make it smell nice.

I found this so helpful because a friend of mine and my mom's moved into our house for a couple of months and she had two Parakeet's and one of them died but I don't know if it was the fumes but they were also fighting with each other a few times and the other one is still alive but it is a little mean it bit my mom when she went to give him water . so what do I do to help calm him down and not stress him out to much????
