After my last phone conked out, I decided to set aside $50 a month for an "electronics fund." I'm preparing, not for the "if" but for the "when".

Eat out - that hit! Where I work the cantine is closed for the summer, and just go for a salad at 7eleven is easy but cost about twice as much. Better make a lunchbox from home 😊

Since our budgeting perspectives develop as children, through the observation of the adults around us, have you considered creating a version of your program that is geared toward helping children develop healthy financial viewpoints and behaviors that support their efforts to grow into self-responsible adults?

I'm looking to create a few digital products over the next six months (hopefully before the end of the year), and one idea is a lesson/guidebook for kids. I do have a video with advice on how parents can start talking to kids about money: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obmWobud3NK2Y2g.html

Excellent advice❤️. I already do many of these things, stopped using credit cards about 5 or 6 years before I retired but if I’d followed all of these tips before I retired,I’d definitely have more money in my savings & 401k.

Hi Vee, Have you suggestions for those of us who have made ourselves the 'go-,to,' for financially struggling friends and family? Ideas as to perspectives, formulas or steps to consider? As always, appreciate your honesty, insights and easy to understand presentations. :)

I'll look into some ideas and perhaps do a video. In the meantime, it might help to think about non-financial ways to help (without giving money) and set boundaries. For example, offer to assist with their job search, resume writing, help them create a budget, give them extra gift cards or coupons, etc.

@@thebrokenwallet, I would like advice on communicating no more money to my 33 year old niece. I have laid out boundaries with her numerous times, I always stick to my boundaries, yet she continues to torture me with hundreds of demands for money! Her parents are deceased and I am her only living relative. Both my niece and her husband work so I don’t know where their money goes, but it isn’t on life’s necessities such as food for their children or their basic needs! Thank you for any advice offered!

@@thebrokenwallet my brother gifted me with a 60Euro year membership to enter a stately house and gardens near me after I broke up with a guy after 4years dating and it is a wonderful gift.....I already put my CV into the farm shop up there......and there are 2 other jobs I found up there that I am qualified for....by accident......

If you’re sticking to you boundaries you’ve done as much as you can do. You can’t control the other person- it may help to think of them as emotionally disturbed, disabled, compromised in some way. I think your need for them to stop asking is what makes them keep asking, they know it’s wearing you down and hope that eventually you’ll have a weak day

“That’s really tough, but I have faith in you. You’ll find a solution.” Visualize a difference or wall between who you were and who you are now and picture that when they ask. They’re on the wrong side of the wall. Very unfortunate for them but far away from you, nothing you can do.

I decided months ago that my only option was to go back age over 40 and do 1year in a college that is right next to me that on my disability I can get the course for free.....it is a legal secretary course that is a pre law course....apparently it will yield me a fast definite very hi paid job....I actually went to a college open day and entered the wrong info talk and just was fascinated......and when the tutor said they hired older staff and that law firms in my area are all desperate for trained staff and that it was one of the highest paid jobs....I literally said 'Thank you Jesus for sending me into the WRONG?? room'.....I start in Sept......

This is so True... and being debt free is Key which I've been able to be ever since 2009 when I did a bankruptcy which taught me to hanle my money wisely.. By having a budget and while grocery shopping going in with a grocery list which solves me from impulsive buying for at least 25 to 35 percent. But I also save on another bill by not using my AC Or heating during the winter time which has cut down my bill drastically which I can do bc yr body gets use to not having AC Or heat... I also save on another bill by not flushing when I pee. It goes like this: When it is yellow let it mellow and when it is brown let it drown. And I also dont use the light when I'm in the bathroom since I live alone I just keep the door open which brings in fhe light already... And I save on food by using a vacuum sealer which helps in keeping my food from getting freezer burned. And by me having a small freezer I got from Amazon I'm stocked up for just about anything that comes my way. It also keeps me out of the store so I'm not buying endlessly...
