I love banshee stories they are so eerie. My mother is an O'Neill and they have a banshee attached to their family

I have heard it when my grandfather passed and my grandmother we are McGrath's My mother said she heard it when here mother passed she's an O Dowd both families are not preticularly known for a banshee. I was on a barracks in England when I heard it for my grandmother (My Back stories is I left Ireland and Joined the British Army it was the same noise I heard when I was living in ireland. next day my uncle told me my grandfather passed. I kept my peace on what I thought it was. My friends in the barracks. in the single block accommadation. all heard it and where weirded out by it. I was then called to the guardroom and told my grandmother had passed. Strangley I didn't hear it when my father and brother passed. years later.

Not sure why a kelpie is in the thumbnail/background with them being a creature from Scottish folklore (easy mix up, I'm Scottish and I mix us up), although Ireland does have it's own evil folklore horse, the Púca! Nitpicking beside, finally something else to disassociate to!

I see Uncle Darkness , that our discussion thread, about "Selkies" & "Kelpies", I started, out of my erroneous & forgotten knowledge , possibly inspired you , to do this. I learned a lot thru replies, from more knowledgeable subscribers & listeners. It was really a cool thing , to learn from people, actually in , or from, Ireland , Scotland & other parts of the UK.

My dad is from Ireland and I grew up there. My favorite story was friend's of his were going to a dinner party, not too late but it was dark already. They had to make a hard left over a bridge and a "wee man" was highlighted in their headlights on the bridgecap fishing as they turned. They kept going a bit and then backed up, the wee man wasn't there anymore. Without a word they kept driving over the bridge on their way to the destination. The wife asked "Did you see that?", her husband said "No, and neither did you". Eh, leprechauns...

Can't speak for anyone who lives in Ireland, but as an American born with part Irish descent (last name is O'Brien) this would not have offended me in the least. People are too sensitive to the dumbest things these days. There is a difference between emulating a brogue for artistic effect and malicious mockery of an accent to demean and belittle a culture.

Any from wales?? I live in a house that’s about 300meters from laylines! Used 2 have an attack bedroom, and done a Ouiji board up in there with a bunch of friends when I was about 14/15 (prob 14) and there’s been activity up the attack and ofc being 46 now I’m living in my childhood home, we’re built on old (very old ) farm and church land it’s gradually made his way around the house!! It don’t bother be really but my son is 25 and he don’t like being in here on his own!!!😂😂😂, but no, there has bee something a bit “mean” in there at one time, but we moved that along!!!! Don’t mind the good spirits but don’t want the nasty twisted ones thank you 🙏

@@FiresCollide oh not lately haha, this was 30plus yr ago, I’m 46 now I was around 14/15 (feel like I would’ve been 14)been a long while, unfortunately whatever came through when it was done doesn’t care how long it’s been it’s found a home and it’s living rent free in my attic 😂 it’s kinda like we’ve lived together this long it’s like my husband 😂I just tell it to pipe down, bangs n sulks for a bit then just normal again, I’m sure it’s not an evil entity as it wouldn’t wait this long 2 do something, i suppose I’m lucky, there has been a dark entity there at one time, yrs after, that I think was still a weakness from what we done, tbh I only ever felt that what I was sleeping like you knew it was standing over you! Scrunch my eyes up n hid in the pillows and duvet!!! That came around 3yrs after so 16/17, then I was told a few yr after that, I attract them (spirits/entities etc) I also live by laylines as I said in my original post, so I suppose I’m an easy target and a free for all for spiritual mishaps 😂😂😂 it’s only when you grown you realise how stupid and dangerous it is! My mam n dad didn’t know for mths goddess they went off there heads when I told them tho!!

In the Banshee story, I think he also met a ghost policeman. He referred to him as a police "constable" but the Republic of Ireland haven't had a constabulary since independence in the 1920s

Re: fog story- now imagine you don’t have a car to escape in, there’s hundreds mobbing and chasing you, they’re in all stages of decay, and it happens every night. Though they don’t chase me anymore because now I willingly help them. Most of the time they’re lost souls, sometimes they stayed around too long and can’t move on so they became lost, or they’re being held and imprisoned to something that’s using them.

Umm. Can't you have good folklore or good supernatural for one duration of content. Do listen to others but there needs to be at least an hour of good.
