Comprehensive set of 3D plans: kingsfinewoodworking.com/coll...
This is a project that we built for a client. It is a 6 foot tall Standard Bookcase made from Cherry. It also is built with a single sheet of ¾’ Combination plywood, (which is an engineered plywood that has a veneer core sandwiched between 2 layers of MDF, then outer layers of flat sawn cherry), and it consists of a solid cherry top and trim. The project features adjustable shelves, and in addition to being 6’ tall, it is 2 feet wide, and 1’ in depth.
This is a fantastic project that is a lot of fun to build and doesn’t need a lot of skill. Having a table saw helps a lot, but not a lot of tools are needed to complete it. Plus everyone needs a bookcase or two.
Things we used for this project:

You always introduce people in your video. They are never nameless beings hovering in the background. What wonderful courtesy. I can only imagine you are a respectful person who also receives a lot of respect. I'm awed by your old-style, once-upon a time common manners & courtesy.

The glue we have today is very good and we no longer need to flood the parts. You may want to include that in your dialogue. You are a great woodworker .

Biscuits will provide extra holding power on the mitered corners of the bottom molding. If this bookcase gets placed on a carpet floor and someone tries to move it, it places a great deal of stress on the corners of the molding. The biscuits ensure the corners never come apart. Just a suggestion from one furniture maker to another. We can always learn new tips and tricks to help make our final product last long after we've gone.

This was very helpful in moving me forward on my own bookcase project. I previously had no idea how to make my own cove moulding and from this video was inspired to create some this morning (I have a pin nailer on order now to get it attached). I also was in a quandary about whether it would be okay to glue a solid maple panel to my plywood top and it set my mind at ease to know that the wide gluing area would serve as a laminate and not to worry overmuch about wood movement. I may even try to make this exact project at some point if I can get an assistant. Thank you for the useful and inspirational video.

Great job! I feel like making something after watching this. Love that Rockler jig, a great piece of kit to have. I made my own out of an old cupboard someone threw away and used electrical tape on the drill bit to set the depth. It works but by the time you have drilled so many holes the tape is pretty sad. I would love to own an assembly bench like the one in the video.

Another great video and piece of furniture. I would like to make a suggestion though. That bottom shelf, would have been nice if that was just a snug fit and not glued, with a finger hole in the back so you could remove it for secret storage. Nobody would ever know it was there with books on place, and plenty of storage for some valuables.
