The reason why I said (I think) is because I think there were 71 dots in this pendulum wave. You can confirm how many there are in the comments below.

It appears, that whenever the slowest circle has went a fraction of it's journey (e.g. 1/2, 3/4, 2/5), a pattern gets created with the the amount of branches depending on the denominator of the previously named fraction.

for the people who didn't like how it cut right to ascending pitch right before the final hit, it happens right at the very end of the video
I think this is a very good visualization of what 'chaos' actually is. Eventually, even if the colors and sounds aren't matched at all, you can still see and hear them sync together, especially at 1:17, 1:42, 2:33 and 5:05 (descending), and 6:21, 6:46, 7:37 and 10:08 (ascending).

I think it would be fun if the visual pattern more closely resembled a keyboard, rather that just one color for each note in the octave. Maybe make the line the pitches cross into a keyboard? That way, it would be easier to understand whats happening in a musical sense

Some explanation, I created quite same video, and it is my working logic. might be expected for you. let say 88 balls, balls run in different cicle, with different speeding. key logic here is speeding pattern. let say ball starts from 0th to 87th (computer start 0 as first). and the speeding is matching below equation, index of ball is from 0 ~ 87 speeding_index = (88-index)/88. So you will find that actually the ball speeding is 88,87,86,....2,1. below is 88 Metronomes playing at the same time kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9SWfKSi2L_IgI0.html
