It definitely sounds better when the beat is at the same rate as the lower rhythm and the rhythms are only one frequency apart.

this is actually quite genius! The way that the added percussion makes you actually focus on a single rhythm while the other one supports it, really makes you understand how theyre supposed to sound!
@leif1075

how does it make you focus on a single rhythm and isnt that subjective whether it does or not?
@known_questionmark
@known_questionmark 10 ай бұрын
@@leif1075 i have absolutely no idea what the purpose of this "subjectivity" is for what youre talking about. Nor that i see any. the percussion makes you focus on a single rhythm because the percussion is literally *made* for that rhythm, hence how it sounds more pronounced for the rhythm its accompanied with. Its there to tell you what to listen to because paying attention to multiple polythms at the same time is confusing on its own, which is why i like this video, because a lot of "polyrhythm" showcase videos just show you the beeps without much auditory explanation for you to understand it
@leif1075

@@known_questionmark ok isee your point with that analogy maybe we misunderstood each other--i meant the affect--not everyone reacts the same way to music so i meant not everyone might focus on the rhythm as intended is all--if that makes sense
