As you saw in Episode #74 with Chris Jones, we discussed the National Plan to End Parkinson's Act. In this episode, we interview Fred Piccolo, a young-onset Parkinson's Patient AND the Director of Special Projects for Congressman, Gus Bilirakas, also working on this National Plan. His personal story and hope that is inspiring. By passing this bill in Congress, he believes we could see a cure in our lifetime.

The cure is coming. Like a thief in the night we will see the day that we go to our movement doctors and they say, "Congratulations, you have defeated Parkinson's. @@thesecretlifeofparkinsons

I just found your podcast, love what you guys are doing!!! Also, I recently had an opportunity to join in with the Micheal J Fox foundation in presenting and sharing with my state representatives office the importance of this bill and its impact on the state's constituents. Awesome interview you guys!

It really was great! The statistics/info and personal stories were received with care and consideration. We were told that this bill would be put at the top of the congressman's list for endorsements. Hopefully this is the case!@@thesecretlifeofparkinsons

It would be great to see better testing for Parkinson’s or the ability to delineate or differentiate from other diseases. I’m going through significant testing right now as my movement disorder Specialist believes I do not have Parkinson’s but I may have MSA or PSP. I do read that PSP, over 90% of the patients with it are diagnosed with Parkinson’s first. There’s so many things that we can do as the proper funding for research and development of treatment and testing for these issues.

I agree! We just interviewed Dr. Patel (MDS) about the difference between PD, MSA, and PSP. That podcast is coming soon so be sure to tune back in!

Hi Jessica, Great video as always. Hi Brian, Are you happy with your DBS? Has it helped you? My husband is thinking about having it done.

Yes, I am very happy with my DBS. I would do it again. As you are aware there's a lot to take into consideration age, lifestyle, symptoms. Everyone's results are different.
