Colin Bell flew 50 missions over Germany in a de Havilland Mosquito during WWll, and it had been 75 years since he had flown in one. At 98 years old, we were honored to have him climb aboard once again.

I had the pleasure of meeting Colin yesterday 10 February 2023 at the RAF Club in London. He is now 102, doesn't look a day of 80! I'm not sure we will see the like of their generation again. Great video and well done LAL.

My sincere thanks to Rod Lewis and his team for arranging for my father Colin to fly in this DH Mosquito. It was very generous and greatly appreciated by all members of his family back here in the UK. My thanks too to American Airlines for getting him there. Martin Bell

I am amazed at his mobility, given his age. He seems 30 years younger. Please thank him for his service from someone in the middle of the US. God Bless!

Much respect to Flight Lieutenant Colin Bell (RAF ret) for his couragous service so long ago. Thank you so much for giving him a lifetime opportunity to fly again in your very rare Mosquito, superbly restored by Avspecs here in NZL! Cheers from Christchurch NZ, David.

Colin, our country is so indebted to the heroism and sacrifice of yourself and the other RAF and allied pilots that fought for our freedom in WWII. Julia and I were overwhelmed to see you back flying in a Mosquito aircraft 75 years later at the age of 98 and your dream come true. Fabulous short video. It is a privilege knowing you personally and being married into your family. Glad to see you safely back from your trip to Dallas and San Antonio

A lovely video about a brave man, and a great act of generosity on the part of various people. Here is a bit of background from the Royal Air Force Club website... "the visit was arranged by Flt Lt Penny Broadway from RAF Valley in collaboration with a small group of pilots and club members from American Airlines, to take place during their Sky Ball event in Dallas Texas which helps to raise millions of dollars for US military veterans. Colin trained as a pilot in the USA under the Arnold Scheme pre- Pearl Harbour, then stayed on as a cadet pilot instructor for the USAAC. Recalled to the UK in 1943, he flew Mosquitos with 608 Sqn from Downham Market and completed 50 missions over Germany."

It's good to be reminded that once some of our old folk were young, and Warriors. Lest we forget!

Rod and Stu and the rest of the people that make this happen are truly great people, great Americans and their generosity is incredible. Colin and those other brave men that defended freedom in WW2 are treasures to be appreciated and respected because few people alive today understand what they did and how lucky we are to still have some of them around.

It gives one goosebumps when these men get to fly the aircraft they flew to war in some 75 years ago. A well made and edited video of the event is a real treasure.

Watching this BEAUTIFUL aircraft literally gave me goosebumps 👍 A marvelous piece (many) of engineering. To think the airframe is built of wood is quite amazing. Also, the freeworld is for ever indebted to Rolls Royce and its fantastic engineers for creating all the excellent & exceptional engines used during WW II👍 The engineers of the US may have created the P51 Mustang, but the Rolls Royce engines made them much better than they would have otherwise been.
