The only aircraft better looking than a Connie is a P-51, and that’s quite a compliment.

Without doubt, there's not a winged ship more beautiful that plied the heavens than the Lockheed Super Constellation. What lines and shape, to stare at it like observing a lovely & sexy female is totally understood by any pilot or man who loves flying machines...all you can say is "WOW."

I remember going to Newcastle airport in the North East of England when I was a kid and seeing the Connie when it was in service. I can still picture it! Probably about 58 years ago!

Everbody was trying to be the Captain. The Captain did a good job. Less comments from the "helpers". Professional pilot here.

My dad worked for TWA for 47 years and the Connie was his favorite plane. I remember when I was a kid going to the airport in Kansas City where the main overhaul base was located. He retired in 82.

Not to be THAT person, but there are clear signs that the co pilot should have left the PIC to fly the plane and not give suggestions, other than the neccessary info required.

I’m just going to say this . The fellow in the right seat is not being a copilot. He’s trying to be co captain, and making a situation more than it needed to be by calling for this and that , grabbing things on roll out that he wasn’t asked to do by Stewart (the captain). Watching this fellow, I’m glad it wasn’t anymore serious than it was.

I am going to speculate here that the problem with the nose gear not retracting fully is due to the strut not being centered after takeoff with the gear still down. thereby becoming obstructed when retracting and thereby not allowing the doors to close. on landing the pilots were saying something about the nosewheels wobbling or something like that and clearly they had a heck of a time rolling out and getting so far off the center line to run over some taxi lights. Disappointed that the video doesn't reveal what the fix was. I think it may of been a maintenance mistake that they didnt want to reveal. which is terrible IMHO. it could also be the nose gear uplock not positioned correctly. but i would be very concerned about that strut. the gear should be disassembled and inspected. this very easily could have been a major disaster, they were fortunate to get it back on the ground without bending up the plane or worse.

I'm surprised they didn't damage the right main landing gear after running over the taxiway light at 9:50 . It also looked like the number 1 prop got very close to the taxiway signs while they were getting off the runway.

Such a beautiful airplane. Should be able to get the gear back down, not sure if they can do an unlock and do a gravity drop on this airplane. Pilots made the right decision to land.
