Thanks for sharing this James! It brings back so many memories for me. I was a young engineer working for Boeing and helped design some parts of this plane back in the day. So nice to see it in action. I love all the content you put out James, but the aerospace content is near to my heart. God speed Brother! I hope your channel continues to grow.

Hey Jimmy! Nice walk around! You are definitely not your average dumb trucker. lol!!! You got skillz!!! Seriously. It does take a lot to fly those things. Those blades are made from pure titanium and one engine cost about $30 million a piece considering the plane cost over $300 million. You have to inspect the leading edge of each blades for damage. If there is a bird strike or something else they have to repair it immediately. They are also leased from Rolls Royce to the aircraft. When it’s time for a rebuild they get another one and swap it in. It takes as little as 7 hours from a team of mechanics. That’s impressive!!!
@glens203619 күн бұрын
I believe you in the price of those engine blades. Pure titanium, the only metal on earth that can handle the pressure and still be light weight. Thank you for sharing.

It always amazes me that you fly one of these beautiful machines, and then you mess around with old beat up trucks, nice walk around, that looks like a pretty new plane,?. The miles and hours those things amass is incredible,. Those cockpit shots never get old,. Brilliant,

Wow, that's cool! I've always wanted to get a license to fly a helicopter. When I was younger and in the Army, I did a volunteer TDY assignment as a guinea pig testing gas masks at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in MD. They had a helicopter unit across the street from the barracks I stayed in. They had several Hueys there and I used to love watching them take off. I wanted to learn to fly them. That was 1989. Thanks for showing us the walk around of the plane. How long does it take to get licensed and certified to do what you do? I'm a bit long in the tooth for that job now having turned 55 back in March.

Loving the walk around, my father’s job was to crack test those blades at the overhaul stage of the engine rebuild process for British Airways.They are welded using nimonic materials and it was a very strict process that was inspected time and time again until perfect. The grinding discs ran at extremely high speed and the noise was so bad that he had to have his ears syringed every so often to get his hearing back to normal.

Awesome views from the ground while inspecting the exterior of the 777 plane. As a company driver we have to wear safety vests while on the property at all times. It’s all part of the safety sensitive jobs we are in. I hope someone at LAX rolled out a strip of red carpet once you were able to exit the plane. Your group of pilots should be on that “A” list, especially with all your experience combined. Welcome to Southern California Captain James!
