@@7Aheadfamilyyou can also go fishing during camp. Maybe you can find moths in the woods. They’re very cute, and fluffy too. 🌲🌳 of course, the disadvantages of camping are, nocturnal animals coming out in the night, mosquitoes, and harsh weather. 🏕️

We used to go camping every Summer, all over England and Wales (family of five - I’m the youngest). I particularly enjoy exploring the outdoors, seeing wildlife; I also love anywhere there’s a harbour and/or a lighthouse. One of the holidays we went on a boat trip to see puffins at the Farne Islands, which have two lighthouses (the islands, not the puffins lol), so that was a really memorable one. A few years ago, before I knew I’m autistic (and well before I knew about safety beds or other people doing this), I seriously considered putting my tent up in my bedroom and sleeping in that.

Happy for you guys! We are definitely planning a camping trip. Although the weather is so different in Cali this year. We might have to wait until next summer but, I did think of trying it out in the backyard just to get the groove with my son. Ezra definitely enjoyed the trip. Very proud of him going up that steep hike. i love how dad started lifting him at the end. Seems like everyone had a blast. The older children are so sweet, Also Mamma you look beautiful as always, i love the hair color!!! What an awesome fam. i definitely recommend this channel to everyone!!! Hubby and i enjoy watching daily. My son will soon start preschool. i cry every day and night, he is about to be 3 and similar to Ezra. I have never left him out of my sight. i was lucky enough, to be able to bring him to work with me. As a baby he was so quiet, but he vocally stims too. i stopped working last year, its been a struggle but the best option to keep our boy safe and happy. i do have a question i hope it is not too much!? Have you guys ever had anyone be rude or mean about any of the boys more, so Ezra's vocal stims? I'm starting to get looks/stares from people everywhere i go. i haven't gotten anything yet but I'm afraid ill just break down and cry ...

Thank you for sharing and we’re so happy you’ve found our channel. We’ve had lots of looks and even glares with Ezra. People will ask, “What is wrong with your son.” We’ve found it difficult at church and restaurants especially, where people expect you to be quiet. I actually have a practiced answer that I say when people ask about Ezra. It goes something like this.”Ezra has Severe Autism. He’s been in therapy full time ever since he was 18 months old and he has learned how to go down a slide all by himself, we’re so proud of him, he really is learning” usually that kind of reply surprises people enough that they are kinder to us. of course what you feel comfortable saying will be different. But this is what I say, usually. I try to keep it positive even if the person talking to me isn’t being positive. And sometimes I’ll mention some difficult things, like, “he doesn’t speak a word yet, but we are hopeful, many Autistic people speak later in life.” So if I try to keep it upbeat it is easier to talk about. Good luck, Mama. ❤️ and thank you for commenting. Keep us updated of how you guys are doing and what kind of videos you like to watch. 😊

Wauw that was a challenging hike. But you where not kidding that there was a biiiiig cross. How it Ezra doing with the more exercise routine. I don’t know what his ABA schedule is but mabye his therapist can incorporate more little breaks(10 minutes every hours) where he can do a bit of excercise(run or jump on the trampoline). Just a suggestion. Sometimes the struggle bus is really hard with a child with autism. It’s always being inventive. Hope Ezra has less frustration going forward.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting ❤️. Yes, the therapist do try and integrate little breaks, sometimes walks to the park or things of that nature to get out some energy as long as the weather is good 😊.

This looks so fun! You guys should do a video on how you get your two boys through church and any hacks! I'd love to see that I need help massively on that. Also do Ezra or Simon have a hard time with transitions? For example it will take a good hour to get my autistic son from the car to the front door. He just does so poorly with that. Any advise or tips are welcome! ❤
@7Aheadfamily
@7Aheadfamily 9 ай бұрын
Thank you. We actually have the video on the list. We may call it, a day in the life on a Sunday. 😊 transitions are tricky. If there’s any way you can make a deal before the transition happens that can help. With Simon we can make a deal saying that he gets some thing if he has a certain behavior. But with Ezra’s it is more difficult. The trick is to find what really motivates your son, and trying to use that in a positive way to get him to have the behavior that is desired.good luck with everything! ❤️

I see Ezra in the high chair regularly, and I understand why he's there, but the more he grows up, the more that could be dangerous, these high chairs are made for kids up to 4 yrs old generally, so you may want to make sure he's under the weight limit, or find a way to reinforce it, because one day it could collapse under his weight, you may want to have someone weld more metal tubes to reinforce the structure of it especially under the seat, or remove the seat from it and secure it to a regular chair, it could be less expensive than a special needs seat and would work for awhile. Also some old retro style wooden high chairs would be able to stand heavy weight too and some have wider seating capacity. On another note, I saw you got some little keeper sleeper for Ezra in the tent, does he likes it, I must be honest after seeing them at my aunt house, I almost wanted some for myself, the material they're made off feels like its so comfy to sleep and my nephews likes them so much. And don't worry about them, they can last 4-5 yrs with constant washing and drying,
@7Aheadfamily
@7Aheadfamily 9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your thoughts and good ideas. I haven’t thought of getting him a wooden one. And Yes, we will only put Ezra in a chair that is safe for him. That high chair is made for bigger kids and it can handle up to 120 lbs. we hope we can help Ezra as he grows up to not need to sit in his highchair so often.
