Detroit's old homes are unique and gorgeous. Many of the old mansions have fountains inside as that was the trend at one time. They also feature tile from Detroit's Pewabic Pottery. You won't find tile like it anywhere else. But I can see myself living downtown. I worked there for two years at the turn of the century and I prefer a walkable neighborhood.

The university district is not near Wayne State University, as you say in the video. It's name comes from its proximity to the University of Detroit Mercy. I have very low confidence that the makers of this video actually know Detroit.

I like my neighborhood being at the top of the list ( Green Acres ) but I found it quite offensive to add clips of areas to this video that aren’t even located in those areas let alone NOT EVEN within DETROITs border

My family lived in University District from 1969 to 1985 and as stated above I’ve been living in Green Acres since 2010

Schools..... Not, Entry level, McDonald's, burger king, ect. Gas station & liquor store Iran by foreigners and they don't give back to the community so we don't have any parks, kids can't get into anything but trouble no YMCA nothing for them to do

Taxes are supposedly high. Also, if you live and work in Detroit - you will pay more Detroit taxes. There is also supposedly very little convenient shopping - ex grocery stores. I think your car insurance rates are also high because of the crime rate. The new residential living buildings are in Cork Town are gated communities.

What do you mean? They showed an image with a Barnes and Noble next to a Trader's Joe. Does that exist on or near Livernois. I don't think there is a Trader's Joe let alone a Barnes and Noble in the city. I also see the misspellings as well.

@@NneomaInhisplace what area in Michigan are you wanting to go to? Oakland County is pretty good but pricey. Stay away from Southfield, Oak Park and Hazel Park in Oakland County. We are not far from Detroit.

This video doesn't accurately represent any of the neighborhoods and because of the crime in the city I would not invest one dime living in the city. The tax base is lacking and so are the city services including the police. Anyone that didn't have a deep investment what could afford to leave Detroit did so in the late nineties
