Not just words, but you should also have alternative phrases that you can say so you don't use the same phrase over and over again.
In today's video lesson, I am going to teach you 8 better ways to say "I'm sorry" in English.

Non native English speaker here, though I slowly forget German words because I was in self isolation almost 24/ 7 for 2.5 yesrs due to being at the highst risk for Covid, as are my parents . So I spent up to 12 hours on "Canned Me" and therefore tried to expand my vocabulary. My granmar and common phrases still lack a lot though, obviously. So I think I found the right channel ! I though: "I beg your pardon" was an even more formal way to basically say: "Excuse me ?" Like if you didn't catch that someone was talking to you at all because it was very loud, or I didn't understand them the first time, didn't notice I was the one spoken to etc . But I think this is a higher level than I need to get better at my granmar, puntuation and phrasing. But maybe it can help me to distinguish between different speech patterns and accents. (I made at least 7 mistakes, didn't I ? )

Love the Barbie doll collection example 🤣🤣 Can I ask why you included 'my bad'? I know we've imported it from US English, but it's appalling grammar and I wonder if it might confuse non-native speakers. (Genuine question from a writer/editor.)

Hey Fiona, yeah unfortunately that's just how languages evolve and grammar changes over time. We pick up things because they sound good to us and start using them and all of a sudden they're part of our dialect. I included it mainly because it's something I use frequently and people will hear in Australia.

Appalling grammar has become the norm. In China the most advertised secondhand book is the New PC Oxford English Dictionary, we should follow their example! 😂

Thank you very much💗 Very useful 🙏 In Russia we can say FORGIVE and EXCUSE and that is still polite. Intonation plays a huge role. If we want to make it more more polite, we can add OJ... AH... We can even say both: "Forgive! Excuse!" 😄

Hey Pete ... can we use pardom only to someone repeat what hey said. E.g. a recruiter calls us and we say pardom? I've been using instead oy the full sentence. How that sounds to a native?

Like is sundanese, indonesian, javanese, etc the English also ther ar kind accent group and level wich suitable to situation wich different, but for what?? If bule's(skin white, blue eye, brown hair) follow go equality?? a bule to calling to parent only name?? Whereas Asian people follow polite culture calling to parent is forbidden only name!,,,
