Anti lag is kinda needed everywhere as it keeps the turbo spinning when shifting keeping the boost up so it’s good for any use really they may implement more engine damage when you use it tho

I have an idea maybe for GT8 but I think that with engine swaps coming I think polyphony could truly bring back the "car encyclopedia" aspect of the early games by dividing the cars in the dealership by model variants. Example: let's say you grab the BMW 3 series. They could develop one model of the car and then from that one model they change the engine to give us the 330i and M340i. Both of those cars share nearly, if not identical bodies with only minor cosmetic changes and suspension tuning. So when you go to a dealer instead of getting a ton of cars in a loooooong row, you pick which series (in the case of bmw) you want and of what generation, and pick your engine and drivetrain like if it was a real dealership. And then to expand the idea further some brands have performance divisions like Nismo and AMG and that could be its own separate area within that brand's car dealership and that's where you find your RS4, AMG C63, WRX STi, etc. Part of what made gran turismo so well received was because the games didn't only focus on exotic cars but also just your regular everyday car that you probably actually own like a Toyota Corolla or a dodge intrepid.

I think I'll find it my duty in GT7 to make that Aqua a crazy all conqueting machine

I've been seeing in little snippets of some other videos that the '71 skyline will be in it too. I know many may not care much for it but that hakosuka is my favorite gen of skyline and just one of many other cars i'm super stoked about.

Anti-lag has another use in rally as a means to keep the turbo spooled up during throttle lifts. It reroutes the air charge directly into the exhaust manifold and uses it to ignite extra fuel to keep the turbo producing positive pressure so there is no turbo lag when the throttle is re-applied. I wonder if the system in gran turismo will be able to function in the same way.

For the 400Z it was confirmed by the official Nismo Magazine called N-Blood on the 93th volume released 2 days ago (this magazine It's japanese only and It's monthly i think)

@HSG Automotive you can clearly see in the top left corner of the Beetle‘s Spec Sheet, that it‘s swapped to a Porsche M96/97 engine, which is the 3.8 flat six of the 911 996 and 911 997.

About the Beetle engine, it is a Posrche GT3 2001. You can see the engine model top left, M96.76 which is used in 996 GT3 2000 and 2001 (Thanks Google)

I think it now has both bore AND stroke increase options, as seen in the right at 2:00 I hope there is some menu to look up more specs of the car, you can´t even see what the engine is like and how many cylinders it has, cam types and aspiration. It added more fun in the previous game, knowing what kind of engine you are tuning, and not just adding percents of power on a artificial engine simulation. The first game had even tire widths and rim size, that you could see change when changing tires to semi-slicks or slicks.

if the Beetle was engine swapped than it was an Easter Egg reference. In Need for Speed one of the fastest car in that game was a Beetle with a Porsche engine . If thats the case then they're definitely diving deep into car culture/knowledge

I'm a huge fan of the Ford GT, and the option to customize the parts has me super excited!

Anti lag actually keeps the turbocharger in positive boost pressure so the power is there after a gear change by adding fuel when off throttle, eliminating turbo lag.

I have yet to see it, but i am hopeful to see newer vehicles like the new M3 and M5 in GT7 or even the newer 911 turbo or GT3. They aren't available in modern racing games rn so having it in gt7 would def make it have an advantage from other racing games

The new pp system is for patching the tomahawk 600 pp glitch and other glitch tunes There was a glitch for tomahawk with suspension and LSD settings that will give you 498 pp but patched now

From March I won't have time to watch many GT7 videos as I will be playing it :) can't wait to see how well they implemented Dualsense. As always, great video, one thing I noticed about the engine swap on 1:54 you can see on the right under "Engine Tuning" what was probably done to the engine and it does mention Bore/Stroke Up so maybe not a swap after all? Time will tell, either way can't wait :)

I noticed the car I was shocked to see actually returned in GT7, it was in "Over 400 cars screen", between the road and race Ford GT 2017, is the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II. (Not to be confused with the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car also seen in the 400 car screen.)

As I mentioned before, I'm all for engine swaps as long as they're sensible and reasonable. I don't like when a Peel P50 ends up with a W16 engine out of nowhere and all penalties and consequences are foregone "just because it could be done".

The only thing you have to figure out by yourself is how much power can the car and the tyres handle without feeling like a pogo stick while turning into corners! If the Citroen 2CV finds a way into the game I will definitely run a stresstest on this car!

I’m looking forward to what the game is going to deliver and it makes me wonder if engine swaps are to be brand restricted or as you mentioned if it can fit. If for both restricted and the “if it fits it sits” ideal. I agree if one can put the same engine in almost anything it’ll kill things, but then that’s hamsters to whizz-wheels for lack of a phrase. Anti lag being more pronounced is a key detail, esophagus since cars seems to not suffer from it in GT currently. Again awesome coverage!!

something to add on to anti lag anti lag also functions as a means to retain boost in turbo lag heavy cars when the cars are off the throttle in corners and other stuff like that. It does that by shooting unburnt fuel out and making the fuel explode in the turbine which keeps it spinning. and because i have initial d pfp i am obliged to say "hurr durr misfiring shitstem"

Anti-lag is gonna be really fun!! I wondering if it’ll be limited on certain races but it’ll definitely be used during the drag racing for sure!….also the engines I feel will be done nice and clean. Meaning for example you have an RX8 but you want to put a 13B in from a RX7…kinda like that which I feel is perfect. I don’t play forza but they played that out the engine swaps to the point, everyone is don’t a Frankenstein build which looks annoying lol…can’t wait for the game! Let’s goooooo!!!
