I hope they expands custom races, so you can pick any car you like, but also pick all of your opponents cars. So you can re-creat historic races in old-school race cars.

Yeah to bad the real reason is just to make the game unplayable in a few years when they take the servers down and that therefore there is no reason to buy the game(maybe used for like 5 bucks). And that it won't help with what they said it's for either.

I was thinking that PD could at least set up GT7 having a campaign for online and offline saves. Kind of like GTAV and GTA Online. Not sure if that would be the perfect solution, but it's something that could work. With that said, I do feel excited with what's being offered in terms of modes, cars, tracks, tuning, and modifications.

I just don't buy the esports defense for online saving. Unless someone is literally manipulating car performance outside of the parameters of the game, why on Earth should I care if some guy modded his account to get more $? PP is a system again, correct? In a competitive environment, you'd be matched against similar vehicles anyway. I don't defend people who do that sort of thing, but I also don't see how that really affects me. Especially when it's the justification to force GT7 to be a game as a service title.

@@TACADD modding include changing car performance, and while it won't do much in free lobby it could really affect online races and even Esport if someone just added some extra hp on more grip on a car And for money glitches it just break players own experiences

@@j3d89 Ikr? It sure always depends on the race, race conditions, the cars of the ai and your car, your upgrades, etc... But when I was racing with the Lexus LC500, and the race was 5 laps, it took me 2/3 laps to overtake them, and they were like N200/N300/N400. And after I overtook them, there was a freakin Alfa Romeo 4C that was on my bum the whole last laps, and sometimes it was fliying past me! :O And I was in an LC500, which is pretty fast in straight lines, and not too bad for cornering! :/ That's what I meant.

I always felt like GT1/2 have had that special sauce and hearing that the team really dug into that is even more exciting. I can remember rocking a yellow Altezza and finding others that I could modify into race cars was awesome. I even remember finding cars that were here in the states that I didn't know of, like the 240sx, loooooong before drifting took over here haha.

From day one I told my best friend this was going to be released 2022 best case scenario. I've seen this movie too many times with other GT's. I only hope this time around the game is worth the waiting. Given no improved damage and probably still bumper cars physics I am concern.

This interview makes things interesting. Especially on the point of the fun factor of the game. In a discussion amongst friends about a couple weeks before the release of the trailer, I mentioned that GT had lost a lot of vigor and it kept going down as time progressed. I created a challenge to the community to help bring that fun back to an extent. I figured the saving issue it would be something to focus on ; as towards other games have started to cut it down mainly because of cheaters and participation trophy earners. Fun fact the smoke effect seems to be reminiscent of GT5/6, so drifters will be happy. Awesome coverage as usual and if you would like to get a preview of the challenge let me know.

Yep! Definitely. VR was promising in GT Sport but it was way too limited. I wish we can go in any GT league race and use VR.

I feel like the only people not clamoring for VR support have to be folks that haven’t experienced it, or had motion sickness issues. Once you experience racing with 3D depth perception and the ability to look into corners, there’s no substitute. If you’re really into racing, you owe it to yourself to try it. Friggin’ amazing.

I like the physics and vehicles sounds in GT Sport but there’s some road cars in that game I could never drive properly. The Aventador is a car I no longer race on sports tyres even with traction because I just hate the handling of that car and it understeers way to much. The E46 and E92 M3, I should be able to drift them cars with ease unmodified but can’t, the E92 also has appalling body roll. Most of the cars in Sport drive really well and I can compare them to real life because I’ve driven a few myself. GT7 looks phenomenal and I love the GT Cafe idea, helping to spread knowledge of cars and hopefully inspire people to take an interest in the car industry.

@Mr Calcium very true and that single clutch gearbox is rubbish. The Huracan and funny as it might be to say is actually the better car of the two.

Thanks for that video. Very informative and got me kind of excited again for this game. Been a very big fan of the series since the very first game. Until GT4 that is, which was the best by far. 5 and 6 were disappointing to say the least. And Sport wasn't what I expected at all. 7 looks like a throwback to 4 which got me excited a lot. Also I couldn't find a ps5 so I'm happy to know I won't be missing out on my PS4 except for the resolution (playing on a 1440p monitor with a full rig anyway) and loading times. Best piece of news this week. Thanks for your great content man! Keep it up!

I remember that from the GT1 intro, truck opening and the Castrol Supra being inside it. Really looking forward to PP being back in the game, used to love building cars on GT5 and 6 even more for that reason.

I know I'm late but one of my favorite parts about grandma was not just the cars, but it was the tracks. Especially the original circuits, you really got to see the design team flex their creative muscle and be good at making race tracks that could indeed exist.

Hey! I think one car secretly hiding in the background is the yet to be announced Porsche 911 GT3 RS the 992 version. You get a sneak glimpse of it on the right hand side as it shows a few Porsche on screen at the same time around the 18 second mark. It's definitely the RS version of the GT3 as the spoiler hight and design match the pre production model thats been belting around the ring also you can just make out the air intakes sat just in front of the rear wheels which is an RS trait. Check it out and see if you think I'm right.

The most important thing for me is that privat lobbies dont are for just 16 players. I mean its not terrible to have only 16 ppl and i dont expect 40 cars on track. But what i actually expect is a lobby for 24 players at least. Espacially when you have a ps5 to feed.

I had an idea for something that Kaz and PD could do in the future. Given that antique cars are now a separate mechanic entirely from regular cars in the game, there should a concours type thing where different players can take cars that fall within certain parameters, and they could vote on which car they think is the best in the field. Sort of like how Kaz bestows the GT Award every year at Pebble Beach to a car that he thinks is best.

The fact that they make the game online only baffles me. Imagine many years from now when you want to play the game but the server is shut down forever, your money are wasted on a game where you cant access the contents. Game as a service is just ridiculous

I'm with you on this one. Being online only, kills the game when the servers are closed. Which means you can't play your game anymore or will be missing a lot (just look at driveclub!) It's a simple way to force players onto the next game. And a shame for game preservation. Imagine it was a thing on GT4. Not being able to come back to it when the pretty disappointing gt5 was released. I'm so happy I can come back to this game and enjoy it to the fullest. 🔥

There's already a good chunk of MP portions of PS3 games I own that have been killed (Killzone 2/3, Uncharted 2/3, GT5/6, ect.) Now with a lot of these titles on the PS4, the entire game will be gone when the servers shut down. Rather than just being unable to play with friends on a certain older title, you straight up won't be able to play the game at all.

I am liking the thought of a new true traditional GT game more day by day if I keep watching your videos. The downside is if that PP system will be so good implementacji as they say i will be missing your tuning videos for that extra mile. Also i wonder when I will buy a PS5 ? Not before GT7 but will i buy one at the release of GT7 ? After your video I am doubting. But let us be entertained by all the new info from now until the release.

No. It requires an internet connection. Just the latest game to become irrelevant for people that don't have internet access. This is a game killer for those people. Won't be bothering with this game or any others that go this stupid route. The death of casual gaming has finally started.

Thank you for the awesome analysis! The trailers suggest it, but I don't think it's been explicitly stated as of yet: Will there be dynamic / procedural track evolution, especially during transitions between dry/wet? I know that PD has laser accurate maps of real-world tracks used. Could that be leading to tracks that end up pooling water in certain locations, or having the common race line dry out faster over time, tire marbles or dust accumulating as drivers leave debris behind? Seems maybe a bit too ambitious for this version, but it seems like they are leading up to something like this either now, or a 7 B-spec release, or left to 8...

This^ There's nothing like everyday cars being pushed super hard! But as I remember, you didn't get to GT cars until late game, which made you feel like you really moved up the ranks. All driving games nowadays just shove exotics in early because it appeals to a wider audience. Imagine having to earn them these days!? :D

Absolutely! Loved all the car variations in gt4, made the game look realistic as you could buy the same "different" car over and over again. Sadly, I don't see that happening ever again with modern car culture

@@tilburg8683I'm sorry but it is I see your point about servers but you really don't believe there are people in vast numbers playing old GT games. When GT7 comes out I can't see anyone playing GT6 on ps3 ie when GT9 comes out possibly on PS6 end of life or the new PS7 hardly anyone is playing GT7 on Ps5.. With PD taking so long making new versions it's normally only 2 GT versions per playstation life cycle the majority play the current newest version with a handful on the previous version, getting back to the hacker and cheating point it's the same reason it won't come to PC, its easier to mess with files on PC so to avoid a shit show of inconsistencies due to hackers and cheats. Can you imagine when online racing on FIA on either a Ps5 or pc that's being used to cheat. PD won't want to be embarrassed for something like this. Which is why it's always online.

I am old school and think that if i want to play on my own against th AI then i should be able to save my progression without the need for online connection. I understand the reasoning but it will mean that i will have to ensure i have the latest patch installed that may be for online lobbies only and nothing that is relevant to me. GT SPORT started at around 40gb and is around 112gb now so given the limited storeage on ps5 it will be a pain as don't want to fork out for extra and expensive storeage.

Traditionally, granturismo allowed us to carry over our cash and some cars. Hope we can still have that, as it favours hardcore GT fans and GT sport players.

Oh, I'm sure you will be able to buy all of these tracks through dlc. To bad that makes the game price extremely high. A couple of real tracks and a few new cars every few months for probably $15/$20 a pop should get this game in the price range of $200 or so. Console gaming isn't worth it anymore.

I do hope prize cars won't be locked away from people who can't win the hardest longest races. I have played all GT games but I'm the best driver and I remember never being able to win the race series with the Nissan R390, Toyota GT One and the Mazda 787b in it. I hope I can grind for them

@@tilburg8683 amen. If I wanted to play online racing I would get an IRacing account. If you're telling me I can't save my career progress because I don't have access to the internet, you've just saved me money because your game is dead to me. The two things I would like them to add into the game is. Custom Tracks like GT5 had. With Toscana.. but also would like to see Shuffle Racing come back. It brought a lot of funny and enjoyable moments.

Any news on B-Spec at all ? I absolutely loved B-Spec mode with GT5 & 6, Having a team of AI drivers take on a endurance race with a car that I had designed/tuned was fantastic!

I like the Gran turismo franchise. It would be even better if they would actually finally put actual damage. All the technical advances they've done in the game trough out the years, but you can still hit a guard rail or a wall at 95mph bounce of it and still keep going like nothing happened. A real driving simulator would have damage.

I use a wheel as of right now , but trust me. That PS5 controller is an insane advantage over the PS4, for me it’s like a 1.0 second per lap difference depending on the circuit( Suzuka was like 2 seconds for me) The throttle and braking is significantly more precise, and the haptic feedback does a really good job of giving information on brake pressure and throttle management along with a much better feel for the tires. Plus the ability to feel the track surfaces is an advantage I don’t even have to explain.

Im taking your word for it as I don't have a ps5 yet. But Kaz saying it's as effective as a wheel is definitely pushing it too far IMO. No controller can beat a high end wheel regarding precision (not even an mid range one) and a wheel adds that level of immersion no controller can even remotely match. I'm willing to believe it's a big improvement over the PS4 controller but he got carried away here 😅 Gran turismo has the best controller input in any racing game, most likely . But to say it matches a racing wheel sounds kind of absurd.

@@LePixelRacer I feel like the ps2 controller is the best controller for racing. The analog buttons were good. But wheels are better yeah, for the feedback. If the ps2 buttons had feedback too it would be great, because it was possible to press the accelarator with 1% input

@@LePixelRacer forza motorsport 7 has really good controller controls too. The thottle and break triggers vibrate when your wheels are slipping or blocking (with abs turned off, so you can actually drive without abs)

F7 is trash though, that game gives controller an advantage over a wheel. A game aiming to be a sim, should never have a controller preform better than a wheel.

As far as gt 7 goes I hope the dynamic/active weather system is on in off-road races. Didn't kaz say gt 7 will have a new dynamic vehicle model damage physics system as well that would effect each vehicle's physical performance?

There will probably still be that harsh flick when you countersteer a little bit too much wich when you do countersteer to much you can't steer back into the corner again. I really hope those race mods will be like back in the day that they add front downforce.

nice review...Im glad that this interview clears things up a bit....i wonder what the many other KZfaqrs will say now that were saying that the PS4 wont handle the game properly. But so far this is great news...can't wait until the game releases...looking forward to B-Spec if it is there

It would have been nice to see ray-tracing during gameplay but that would require more processing power. The game will most likely do replays at 4k 30fps with ray-tracing. Still looking forward to it.

Weather changing mid event is interesting and sounds fun. PGR4 had the best weather effects in any racing game I've played and even that was static if I remember correctly. The performance group settings sounds good, if Group X came back I wouldn't have been happy.

Driveclub has objectively the best weather effect imo. Pgr4 was great (big fan here) but driveclub was amazing, so immersive and so many details 🔥. Such a pity that game and franchise are dead. So much potential in this game. Still playing it from time to time. (Also it plays amazing with a wheel)

@@user-hi4sm3ig5j you should definitely try it! You'd be surprised! I got into it very late as the arcade genre is usually less appealing to me. I'm more of a sim guy. But what a surprise it was. Amazing game really. Beautiful even to this day (30fps though) and amazing sound design, exciting gameplay even with a wheel and very impressive and original car list with lots of concept cars. Drive club vr is arguably better than GTS vr. It has a real full VR career with dozens of events and lots of specific cars for this version (not a time trial only event as in GTS) AND you can actually race 7 other AI cars in full races with some actual challenge. Not that one on one with stupid AI featured in GTS. Driveclub was a gem. It was buggy at launch because of the online gimmick and was doomed by PlayStation. I swear this game has a lot of potential. It is very polished regarding interiors in vr or not. Amazing and much more convincing sound design than gran turismo has ever been. And it's just that much exciting. Arcade style with a twist. Feels surprisingly "real-ish" with a wheel. Physics are really good. Lot of impact and a great sensation of speed. You can find the game used in box for like 10€. And the VR extension (standalone btw) used in box for 12/13€. It has become my favourite arcade racer by far. And I'm definitely more of a sim guy (AC and ACC being my favorites!)

i was actually hoping for a 120fps performance mode on the PS5 tbh. In 2021 a racing game that takes itself serious must provide that. Above 60 fps in racing sims has been a thing over on PC for many years by now. the game clearly was developed first of all with the PS4 in mind and probably PD just missed their mark to release it at the end of the PS4 cycle, it would've been like it was with GT6 that was launched right at the start of the PS4 for the PS3. now they market GT7 as the next gen thing while from the gameplay sniplets you clearly can see that 90% of it is simply GT7 with better res and shadows and maybe raytraced stuff (that in the trailers makes the fps go to 30 at times, check that Pennzoil Nissan scene in the tunnel. basically in terms of graphics and tech GT7 is a PS4 game with a PS5 Upgrade. now, all that does not say that the game is great or bad, i am sure if they stick with the classi GT formula that it will be a very good game and i am looking forward to playing it, i just was hoping to see a true next gen leap in terms of graphics for the PS5, but thats just not the case and thats my only gripe that they try to market it that way.

Just wait for PSVR 2 VR 😎🎉 Devs talked about 120fps, even 240fps years before... So they was thinking next gen. Trailer is early dev, and we can't juge from video stream... But stable 60fps is fine actually. The bigger PC use DLSS2 to get "4k" RT and 60fps... Consoles now can use same AMD FSR... But it's too soon for games devs. It will come with 1 or 2 years

They change the physics every time. GT Sport is very good, but there are many improvements that can be made to make the handling more realistic and enjoyable. Stopping progress helps no one.

It is actually starting to appear like the Grand Prix Legends game did. Full adaptability and major gains by doing so. I was a beta tester w/priv on the game thru papyrus/sierra. I have not been able to find out if PS membership will be required to access the PS4"entitlement". Can someone please answer so I can decide whether or not to cancel my pre-order of GT7 ad just re-start my PS4 version and play it again under a different name. We are sick and tired of Amazon selling games that are only 1/2 functional for full price.(driveclub-bike upgrade not available)

Good news. Because being a Sony game, i was concerned whether they would purposely make it suck on ps4 so more people feel the need to buy a ps5 (regardless of the lack of stocks right now - but then again, who's to say that wouldn't be the reason of the delay 🤫). But not suprised that that's the case, gt games always been ahead of its times regarding graphics and fps. Gt4 being in my opinion the most noticeable.

Ps4 people will probably get f*cked over in some way. The have online only. So once they turn off the servers the game is literally unplayable. That's probably one of the reasons they have it.
