How to Get Rid of Garden Grubs Naturally?
Are grubs taking over the flowers and veggies in your garden? If you are battling these pests in your garden, this video is for you! We will show you the perfect solution to eliminate those pesky bugs without harsh chemicals. This guide will show you simple tips and tricks to keep grubs from ruining your garden. So what are you waiting for? Tune in now to take back control of your garden!
Garden grubs are the C-shaped larvae of various beetles. They live beneath the soil surface, where they feed on grass roots and cause damage to lawns and gardens. Garden grubs can cause significant damage to grass and gardens by reducing root growth and causing plants to wilt or die. Their feeding behavior creates drought-like symptoms in plants due to insufficient water absorption by the roots. They also attract predators like birds, raccoons, skunks, and moles that destroy lawns during grub hunting.
Here are 8 Natural Ways to Exterminate Garden Grubs
1. Apply neem oil
Neem oil is a natural and effective pesticide that can help control garden grubs. Its derived from the seeds of the neem tree, native to India and other parts of Asia. Neem oil contains a compound with insecticidal properties that can target various pests like garden grubs. To use neem oil as an insecticide, mix it with water according to the instructions on the label. Then spray the solution onto your plants and soil where you have noticed signs of grub damage. The oil will disrupt the life cycle of garden grubs, preventing them from maturing into adult beetles that can lay eggs. In addition to its insecticidal properties, neem oil has antifungal and antibacterial properties that protect your plants from other diseases. While neem oil is safe for humans and pets, use it cautiously and follow proper safety guidelines.

When I was a young lad I would find a grub hole and "fish for grubs". Just take a slender shoot of grass or wild onion and stick it into the hole with a few inches sticking out. Within a couple minutes you'll see the stem start moving and being pushed up out of the hole. Grasp the stem with your fingers and simply jerk it out and the grub comes out with it.

Is it possible to burn them ? I have many on my balcony. Or can i kill them and turn them and reuse them as compost ? Birds seem to have no interest in them. LPI like the garlic solution. It repels mosquitos as well. After next barbecue, there will be some rosting smell 😂😅. I must protect my tomatoes !ll Very useful video + useful chanel. Thanks

It would be nice to include some information on cost and best application (i.e. square footage of area to be treated) of the various methods. For example, neem oil and garlic solution is best suited for small areas like raised bed or container gardens, but not for quarter acre lawns.

Grubs are Japanese beetles. Spraying Neem on your yard would harm other insects not just grubs, including ground dwelling bees. neem should be used on the plants beetles feed on and at night or early morning when bees aren't around.
@MaryPoppins-tu1ms
@MaryPoppins-tu1ms Ай бұрын
Not only the Japanese beetles.There are other types of beetles.Anyway, Neem oil I use to treat some scin conditions.It is organic, cold pressed and expensive. As for the garlic water, onoins skin brew, mastard powder water, sowing mastard around my veggies(been done last season, now autumn in New Zealand, still growing) is OK.

You would have to spray in the evening after bees are gone. But I agree, maybe neem oil is t the best choice.

I never “battled” them. I was shoveling some 2 1/2 year old compost into raised bins, and encountered five or six of them. I just tossed them out of the beds and have not had issues since. But I have to say, they are ugly!

I am in 80+ degrees, in the hot sun, in NW PA, today, and I have thrown several on the road, in the hot sun, I dig a bit more, and get a bunch more, and I went back, they’re all gone, they move fast…I have no idea where they went. I was hoping the birds were eating them, but I wasn’t paying attention. I threw them in an old bowl I had here, set them on the road, and three robins were fighting over them. So, I guess I have my answer. I’m going back to digging. I live near a popular fishing stream, I’m thinking about getting some to sell to the fisherman. I have a small refrigerator to put them in, because I certainly wouldn’t put them by my food. 🤮🤮🤮

Wow or let them become beetles and yet again become part of natures life cycle and feed many other species and help pollinate plants. Or worry about your stupid lawns and show the planet how much you really don’t get it.
@MissMolly3377

We aren’t caring about our “stupid lawns,” ya fool, we are talking about them eating the roots of our food plants….I mean, you do want to eat don’t you? I am assuming you just think food pops out of thin air??? Poof…there is an avocado. Well, at the least, you, more than likely, think that the vegetables and fruit you get at the grocery store is actually healthy for you, right? Oh, and, please, tell me how a Japanese beetle or a June bug will pollinate plants??? O wise one.

Tide powder soap? Hmmm/How?
@MissMolly3377
@MissMolly3377 21 күн бұрын
Tide powder is wicked. The thing is, this video isn’t so much about a healthy lawn as it is for our fruits and vegetable plants, it just so happens that these grubs thrive in lawns, but the video is addressing how destructive they are to your needed plants. I would not put Tide on any food plant, it is extremely harsh. 😊
