Anyone who has watched my channel knows that I want to train every aspect of my performance. That means strength but also speed, endurance, mobility, balance, reflexes… Beyond that, I also want to train all those little things that get missed: like grip strength, scapula control, rotational strength etc.
This is the only thing that makes sense to me. Would you take a car into a garage and tell them to fix tyres but to ignore anything else wrong with it?
Doing this is challenging from a programming perspective, of course. There are solutions, though. One is to train with more dynamic and “chaotic” movements. Think trail running, rather than running. Pull ups from tree branches rather than poles. Better yet: think sports, martial arts, hand balancing… rather than standing on one spot curling a weight.
This adds more variety and unpredictability to workouts. It creates “repetition without repetition.”
Another option is to be more active throughout the day. Don’t think in terms of workouts. Think in terms of changing your lifestyle to facilitate more movement.
The last strategy is to use “bang for your buck” exercises. Why use an exercise that isolates one or two muscles? Why not find things that train multiple aspects all at once? Then program them with drop sets, so that you can still create enough specifically targeted fatigue.
(Which is exactly what I do in SuperFunctional Training 2.0, as it would happen.)
This video is from my old Batman Workout for 2022. Here, I demonstrate 8 of my favourite “bang for your buck” exercises.
What are your picks?

The most impressive thing is that he's talking casually while just belting all of these moves out.
