Maps i used on the road by pulling over or looking at the route and making a list of right or left turns at which intersections and for traffic interference I listened to KNX1070 News Radio with a traffic report every 6 minutes.

You not funny here. Google is being sued for leading a man into a river, he drowned. NOT the first time. I could read a road map at 12 years old, NOT rocket science! Drivers NEVER tried to look at a map while driving and didn’t need to be told not to! They pulled over to check the map OR had others in the car check it if driving. Also had to show Dad that could change a flat tire and check and refill fluids on car before was allowed to get drivers license! Technology is wonderful, WHEN IT WORKS PROPERLY. Your generation needs to learn to do things for themselves because there will come a time you WILL NEED THE KNOWLEDGE. And don’t forget to learn to use an ACTUAL CLOCK and a MANUAL CAN OPENER.
