Welcome to this fourth part in this wireless series. Well, we want to start sending data. How do we get access to the wireless medium and is there anyone trying to do the same? In this video we will discuss the PCF (Point Coordination Function) where the access point takes charge and the DCF (Distributed Coordination Function) where the nodes can get work done. Along the way we will also discuss interframe spaces and some of the performance issues associated with wireless operation (shared media, contention, overhead, etc.).
