Seeing all these volumes centered on the Summer of 93 makes me think of this time period. I had just turned 16, and high school was not going well for me, so I had a lot of issues in my life. My parents had divorced the year before after 21 years of marriage, and with my two older brothers away at college, it was my mom and me. She was in the process of building a new smaller house for us, but it wouldn’t be ready until December, so we were living at my grandma’s house until it was ready. It had been abandoned since my grandma was at a nursing home at the time, and while it was nice, it was very old, and didn’t have air conditioning. I remember spending a lot of time at the library or movie theater when I could, and sleeping downstairs in the living room in a sleeping bag, since it was cooler there than up in my bedroom. I was depressed a lot during this time period, but have a lot of emotional attachment to this summer, so this collection has helped a lot with dealing with old memories. As for that summer, I was able to survive thanks to Link’s Awakening for the Game Boy, and going to see Jurassic Park five times at the theater that summer.

Continuing on with the Snick ads from summer of 93. On 7/31 I returned home from vacation so I was probably watching it this night! Probably rented a Super Nintendo game as well.

The Bubble Tape ad at 5:45 is such a great example of 90s design. Is there a term for that highly desaturated look incorporating low frame rates and retro imagery? It was everywhere back then.

00:42 - You know Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network kinda had a bit in common! They started off airing various classic cartoon shows before focusing primarily on their own cartoons! I can’t help but miss those days of variety when they had a bit of both!

Partnership For A Drug-Free America PSA-parents will hopefully catch on sooner or later.. Our Favorite Movies-i presume Tom Arnold's pick was "Tommy".(R.I.P Tina Turner) Snailiens -"..we have TMNT at home." G.I. JOE Hall Of Fame Action Figures-Destro certainly didnt look like Christopher Eccleston 😂

5. McDonald’s- Somehow I doubt that in real life, a situation like getting on the wrong bus like those two boys did would be as simple as this commercial depicted it as. 10. Partnership For A Drug Free America PSA- For A PSA that looks very simple, I get a lot of creepy vibes from it. Chuck E Cheese’s- Seeing the Prize Counter at the end of this commercial calls to mind for me going there for birthday parties when I was a kid and seeing that you literally need to win hundreds and hundreds of tickets to get any of the good prizes from there.

man another bumper I totally forgot existed! also don't recall snaliens but I don't doubt someone ELSE trying to compete with TMNT, that's for sure. also man that destro reveal was disappointing you'd think he'd be bald for the metal mask to fit better avoid the whole helmet-hair thing, haha.

18:08 Don't recall (maybe it's because my parents didn't have cable or satellite until 1996; so outside of visiting relatives I probably wouldn't have seen any cable networks as a small child) hearing about Nickelodeon's Orange A Peal PSA's before. Incidentally; Roundhouse's Mark David, Julene Renee and Seymour Willis Green were featured in the spot.

cary elwes was in glory with Matthew Broderick. Was that robin hood joke with Richard Lewis suppose to a backhanded insult to Kevin Coster and the Prince and Thieves.

"Men In Tights" was a direct parody of "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves".
