First time I ever saw someone weld a nut to a broke off bolt in a block and remove it was here on this channel. I thought it was hopeless.

I’ve never had a reverse drill bit work……. I generally end up just welding nuts to them.

"Permanently repaired with a temporary cable clamp." This is what I tune in for - that and the "while you're in there" quick fixes. Btw, the 5.7 "diesel" was derived from an Olds engine (& you see how well that worked), and I think GM "learned" from that, so the 6.2 is a legit diesel.

Starter bolts breaking is really common on the 6.2s, the small bracket on the end is a must with those engines

Kid ran it out of fuel, broke the starter. Kid should be helping to fix.

There is a starter brace that bolt to the block and the back of the starter to prevent this. I have a block in my shop that hase the outboard bolt boss completely broken off because the owner desided tis brase was unecessary you have been warned.

The biggest problem I ever had was with starter bolts on all my chevys.

In the 80s they were all converted gas engines
