Pretty cheap and ez to find in the junk yards off of a 94 and down and the 92-98 jeep GRAND Cherokees have a 12.7 ratio steering box. Both are ez salvage yard finds

Thank you for your video- Lord knows Hooker instructions are non existent for the modification to the steering column shaft for a G body. Three of my buddies and myself bought this for our Buick GN/Turbo T’s and tried to install it but obviously would not fit w/o the grinding of the column shaft- thank you for the info!

Great vid! I'm about to install my Hooker shaft. Just wanted to say: the nut & bolt down by the steering box? I think you wanna take the steering shaft bolt out all the way to get the shaft to seat completely on the steering box gear. The steering gear has kind of a groove around it that the steering shaft bolt kinda slides through to hold everything in place. Don't wanna see you hit I64 with non-responsive steering.

It changes how straight your steering wheel is after you installed. It was your steering wheel straight? Sometimes you have to make sure and adjust it so the steering wheel is straight.

I definitely got the jeep shaft a while back. Worth the upgrade

Just wanted to make sure you were all the way on the steering box, the guy's that rebuild steering boxes always cut the little tit off the end of the spline on the steering box so it doesn't interfere with after market shafts, good video

I have the half shaft ordered for the 96 to 05' S-10 for my 05' Blazer Not because i am installing Headers I hate the feel of the steering when driving Like a really bad B rated movie where the guy is on the steering wheel left right left right ....Only This is a real thing ! The rag joint is old and worn out I am even beting the owner before me hit a curb and ripped the rag joint ...Anyways It will save me one more thing The middle Spark plug being a tight fit ..You would have to use a deep socket with a square back to get a wrench on And back out the spark plug with 3 or 4 twist of the wrench Then by hand Pain in the ass Even worse had to watch your cross-threading going back it 2 more days waiting for my part Cant wait ...My Blazer btw is custom with copper paint ..a lift And offset tires Queen size bed And a kitchen pull out behind the tailgate My first love of cars was the 87 Monte Carlo SS My friend had a 84' LS Toronto Police pulled us over no less than 30 times in that thing ...Loved it

read the back of the instructions, it says to file down a flat spot for the set screw on the steering box splines. you dont want the set screw on splines.

Where did you get that bold from the one that connects the shaft up to the steering wheel, i noticed mine needed a longer one

If I change the steering shaft to jeep do I have to also change the gear box too or is ok with the original gear box on my 86 Monte

my monte has a 5.3 with headers will this item help to no rub on headers no more...is there a difference between the jeep and this hooker one
