I think 88 Wheel Co have really outdone themselves with this product. I haven't skated a wheel as fast as this one, but that also absorbs a ton of road vibration whilst providing a "cloud-like" ride. I'm not feeling the claims of low rolling resistance/good roll speed and acceleration. I'm getting the exact opposite. Of all the 85mm wheels I own, my McFlys are slower than my slowest wheel set, which are the SpeedVent Clear Blue 75A. What they do excel at is durability and comfort. The McFlys are impervious to road debris, whereas I am continually picking out bits of glass shards from all my other wheels, and they are the most comfortable and quiet wheels over all types of road imperfections and debris. McFlys are great for urban riding, but I wouldn't call them LDP at all. Their rolling resistance just sucks all the energy out of your push that it's hard to imagine them being a wise choice for long distances. After I switched back to my SpeedVent Blue 75A, it felt like the anchor that I had been dragging behind me was suddenly released. The difference really is that noticeable.

Best wheels. I need to buy a second set. I do wish they made them 88mm high to further connect them to the Back To the Future universe, but oh well.

Yup totally agree with everything in this vid. I had the same experience. Now use them on my loaded pantheon trip basically always. I used to grab my other boards more often, but since I got this combo, I just keep using it day after day

I will definitively keep those wheels in mind, thank you for your review. I was drawn between those wheels and the 85 mm Seismic Speed Vents. I went with the Speed Vents (clear blue, 78A) as they were narrower than the McFly and I wanted to reduce my chance of wheel kicking as much as possible and I ride narrow 150mm trucks. I was also super happy with them and they went over citycar tracks with ease and rough concrete. Your channel is so helpful man, love your content!

Have been riding 88’s on my Pantheon Trip since the first batch arrived in The Netherlands. As a replacement of my blue Kegels..Put the Kegels on my Dropcat but have to get another pair of 88’s for my Dropcat..

Can you do slides with these kind of wheels? I consider them for daily commute, but on steeper roads I like to brake with slides to save my shoes. So I am afraid that they will be hard to kick out and will not slide smoothly. Btw very good channel keep it up!

My favorite wheels for distance hands down. But make that "85 dollars" about 100€ instead... they are worth it, but they certainly aren't cheap!
