That round is wonderful, it performs better than the 8mm Mauser and 30-06, it does as much damage as a Soft Point on flesh and bones, and goes through metal like an AP, even if it's a classic FMJ.

Best shooting surplus 8x56 that’s out there. I remember buying boxes of this stuff for like very cheap in 2018 and 2019. Sadly it’s not .50 a round anymore😢

Yeah it's pretty collectible so the cheap days are over. I got my M95s back around 2013 and even back then it wasn't very cheap. I have some PPU but mostly shoot nice low power cast reloads in mine. Those carbines are brutal w/ recoil IMO. Makes a M44 Mosin seem tame. Something about the shape and angle of the stock, they like to fly up off your shooting rest too.
