Thank you Chuck. I did like the course, although I do prefer courses that are a bit tighter. There were a lot of flat straights in this course. Top speed on my Freeride is about 45 mph in the dirt, so I was limited on how fast I could go. It seems that it was not a disadvantage with some of the other racers I was with. Maybe they did not want to go any faster than that anyway because they were not comfortable going any faster or they were just conserving energy. Some of the other racers were going faster than my top speed for sure. I did intentionally let some of the other racers around since they were behind me for a while and I knew they were faster than I was. However, in some of those straights, if I could have gone faster I would have. When I get the Stark Varg I’m sure I will have that opportunity. 🙂 I was running the hybrid foam crescents with the tubes this race. No flats so far so I consider it a success. It was good to have the ability this race to set the tire pressure. As you said it was mostly dry, but I could tell there was going to be some really slick sections and hills, so I had lowered my tire pressure down so my traction would be better. Usually there is a risk of pinch flats when you do that with tubes alone. I think you can see during the race my traction in those slick sections was pretty good, so I think that was a good call. The battery change time was pretty good. I did fumble around in the beginning trying to get the side stand on that kickstand plate I had on the ground so it would not sink in the soft dirt, but other than that it went pretty smoothly. I did have that guy talking to me while I was doing the battery change. I always like to answer people’s questions about the electric motorcycle, but I hope he was not too offended that I was in a hurry. He asked how long the battery lasts, and I was ready to take off, so the quickest answer I could think of that was accurate was “Half a Race”! LOL On tight courses the battery will last much longer, but on a fast course like this one it drains the battery much quicker.
