When I was younger, I did some of these things. I wore red, straightened my hair, wore makeup etc only to discover the men that were attracted to me only wanted sex. Now that I am in my late 30's, I decided I was just going to be me. No longer was I going to change myself for a man. I'm still single and that's okay because I realised that if a man was going to fall in love with me, it was going to be because of me. To be honest, no matter how confident, funny or how big your heart is, if men don't see you as "their" type, they look the other way. They don't even bother getting to know you. Why should a woman change her entire appearance to attract a man, then have to keep up that fake appearance to keep him happy. I can straighten my hair but if it rains, or I sweat....it gets curly again. Eventually he's going to see your true appearance.

True none of the previous videos I watched mentioned men having types and they only go for that certain type and it’s really true.. experienced this many times where I was into guys and they only wanted a certain type that I wasn’t. Also, why straight hair? Curly hair is gorgeous... a lot of women have been doing that wavy hair trend for years now with a curling iron

Personality is key. I don't care how drop dead gorgeous you are, how straight or white your teeth, or long your hair. If you have a horrible personality (mean, petty, condescending, etc.) you are not attractive. All of these are great to know, but confidence and personality always end up being the real winners for a happier and healthier relationship.

Winner of a video, I've been looking for "dress to attract women" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Weyrayden Qiyvelyn Framework - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got excellent results with it.

I have loved all of your videos but this was a big miss for me. BIG. Obviously info like having white teeth and accentuating and hourglass frame is totally fine but come on....quoting a “study” from Zoosk? Telling women to straighten their hair from some tiny “study’s”. Based on what? For someone who claims to be accredited in phycology this is so ignorant. 🙄 You really need to check your mansplaining in this video. It’s not your place to tell women to straighten their hair and damage it all in the hopes of making a man attracted to you? Sooooo much NO. I’m sure your motives are good, but that doesn’t excuse the ignorance.
@datingcoachryanpatrick
@datingcoachryanpatrick 4 жыл бұрын
@@gabriellehorton3928 Hey Gabrielle, thanks for checking out my content! I appreciate your feedback about his video, but I can't help but take issue with a few things you said as I put a *tremendous* amount of time and preparation into ALL of my videos. First off, this video is about the science and psychology of attraction. We're literally talking about science here. So you may call my pointing out that having straight and white teeth and accentuating the hourglass figure as "mansplaining," but when in reality, science has got my back on this one. You may not like the things I'm saying, but to call it mansplaining is just simply silly. Believe me, I'd be *the first* to hear about mansplaining from my wife, and she watches ALL of my vids before they're released. I'm very conscious about my tone. And yes, Zoosk had a sample size of over 2,000 men! That's statistically significant! Zoosk has plenty of professionals that run these studies and surveys, because if they're done poorly, that's their reputation on the line! They've had a really good track record with these things in the past, you should know. Your comments also negate the fact I cited other "academic" studies, but are they just mansplaining to women too? And I never told any woman she *had* to do anything. So thank you for your feedback, but I'm not going to roll over here when my intentions were, in fact, solid and I know I'm putting out good information 🙂
@gabriellehorton3928
@gabriellehorton3928 4 жыл бұрын
Allow me to rectify something I believe you may have misunderstood. In my initial comment I used the hourglass figure and white teeth examples as “totally fine”. Meaning, I agree with you and you are 100% correct there. Those are absolutely indisputable facts. I think If you re-read my comment you will understand that. :) My issue is with you selecting one study from one source to declare a standard of what hair type is preferred by most men and then suggesting women ALTER themselves accordingly. . It’s not responsible to make such claims, as several studies with similar parameters should be reviewed and cross examined before arriving at such conclusions and making such statements. In my opinion, that just good sense..... I understand why you don’t see a problem with this, and I applaud you for your concern and monitoring your tone and including your wife. That’s great. Like I said in my comment; I assumed you were coming from a good place. However, good intentions can still have negative consequences and it is important to learn when presented with the opportunity to do so. Women of color with textured hair and women (like myself) with curly hair have had different experiences than those that do not, and it’s not possible for your wife to speak for all women. Did you know it was ILLEGAL for African Americans to grow their hair naturally from their head in this country at one time? People were actually arrested for this. Do you know that people have actually asked me to my face if I was poor because they saw that I didn’t fit into an orange county mold and didn’t have straight blonde hair? Did you know manipulative and controlling men tell women “ohhhh you’d be so pretty IF you just straightened your hair and changed the color?” Did you know that women spend thousands of dollars a year to achieve something they will never have and end up destroying their natural hair by processing? (Personally it took me two years of looking like a drowned 🐀 to get my curls back) I said that you were mansplaining because you’re speaking on and giving advice on a sensitive issue without, in my opinion, being very educated on that issue. Which is a fair criticism of a page such as this.

Comment/Question: I KNOW for a fact that the color red works and specially the Straight hair; I did a test and changed my profile dating picture with a red dress and silky straight hair: I am not exaggerating my messages went from 5 a week to 10+ a day HOWEVER I was attracted a lot of superficial guys who had a 6 packs and looked way to perfect. I have natural curly hair. I want a guy to want me for me, the real me. Isn’t it deceiving to have the pictures of your profile with straight hair and show up on the date with straight hair and dated for a while go back to curly hair? I used to keep my hair straight before but it takes me 3 hours to do and even more work to keep it up. And what did it for me to keep my hair naturally curly for good was when my 3 years old told me: “Mommy, I wish I had pretty straight hair like you”. That broke my hair and I don’t have straight hair and YES I used to attract more guys but what kind of guys! And I want a guy to like me for me, not my looks.

I'm glad you came to this conclusion. The information he's giving is only information. This does not mean that anybody should take it to heart and change everything about themselves for this. This only attract the typical majority of men. Just like you say! I have a tightly curled afro and it attracts quite a bit of men on its own. My hair type is the exact opposite of what he's mentioning in the statisticshowever people are attracted to different things for different reasons. This may be the majority and that's okay. The majority of men can like what they wantbut I'm not trying to attract the MAJORITY. I'm trying to attract the ONE for me. I'm going to enjoy my body, continue to wear makeup that plays up my NATURAL FEATURES and dress for my personality and body.

Now I'm in my late 40s I am confident and strong. I can even approach a guy. Most every guy I meet tells me that I look fun and my confidence is what they notice from a distance. They love my smile as well and tell me a happy woman is highly attractive to them. It takes some doing and as Ryan said it takes time.

Yes, please do a video on body language. This may sound odd/funny, but I use a combination of "tells" to gauge how a man might feel about me. Yes, I look at his body language, but I also trust my gut feelings. For example, recently I tried to express interest (friendly tone of voice/open body language) with a man in whom I was interested. He was giving me mixed signals, so for a time, I couldn't tell if he was just being friendly, or was interested in me. My guts were telling me he was just being friendly. Turns out that he's homosexual, so I have my answer! He *was* just being friendly. And, the tip-off to me were gestures and body language that I've only seen in homosexual men. On other areas - such as attractive qualities in men and attractive body language - to me - yes, physical attraction has a role, but someone's character - not just personality traits - are what pique my interest. I've met drop-dead handsome men that couldn't carry a conversation across the room who turned out to be very unattractive to me, and "so-so" guys who were real charmers in the area of character and knowing how to treat a woman, who were real turn-ons.
@datingcoachryanpatrick
@datingcoachryanpatrick 4 жыл бұрын
Copy that! I've already got some good ideas cookin' for that body language vid! 🤗I like how you interpret what your gut is telling you, too. It sounds like it's an even mix of interpreting your heart & brain... That's the secret sauce! If you notice a guy keeps coming back, almost unnecessarily, to the point where you tell yourself "Oh... he's back!" Pay close attention to those guys. They'll want to keep talking and will keep plowing forward with the pursuit! When he gets wishy-washy and stops doing things he said he was going to do... NEXT!

My suggestion would be to find what I call a Personal Stability Zone (or a PSZ, as I'm all about acronyms lol). For me, it was my high school stadium in my hometown on a Sunday afternoon -- super quiet and beautiful. Get quiet and still with yourself about who you are and what you stand for (i.e. what you value the most). This way, you're calling up that side of yourself without any extraneous voices around telling you "you can't have that"(for instance, family members that may not always have your best interests at heart). Finally, make an agreement with yourself that *you're not tied to any certain result* with men moving forward. There are no self-imposed deadlines or other silly things that are going to hinder your growth or make you feel like you're not making progress when you actually are 🙂

I think it's discouraging to know that for whatever reason, men just aren't attracted to me. At least, not around here. When I go to other states, or areas, I seem to attract them way more. But here, in Southern Oregon, it's impossible. I never got asked out. I ended up with a evil Sociopath because I settled when men were just too hard to attract. I saw other women who weren't attractive, per se, who attracted men. I am nice and friendly, honest (but not rude or inappropriate, etc), patient, and I believe in being kind. I also like to laugh and have a sense of humor. I don't tell mean jokes or obnoxious stuff. I have good hygiene. I have been told that I am beautiful physically by many people even women. But for whatever reason men just don't like me.

You do realize there’s different races out there besides whiten people right? A black woman with dark hair looks nothing like an Asian woman with dark hair and she will look nothing like a white woman with dark hair. Having dark hair and occasionally wearing red lipstick isn’t going to make you a clone of someone else.

😂😂😂 I'm 55 this year, with very curly hair, highly sensitive, quirky, lost some back teeth from an accident, with specs, so... I should go grab my Nun's habit then? LOL I do like wearing the colour red & am very opinionated. There's something! 😉 (honestly I've not had issues attracting guys, just need help choosing the right one!). Being an ambivert makes it a lil tricky. I like my own company but love being with a partner too. If I had confidence before watching this, God help me now! Hahaha (truely, as a Christian woman, I'm ok, my faith comes first and it will for the right guy, if he exists, too ☺️). My blind friends like me & my voice {that's not a joke} and I love my career in sharing the Gospel and teaching Christian Meditation online, which gives a lot of love to so many and fills my heart with joy. That's pretty great 😍🥰

This is very interesting. I hate styling my natural hair and heat damaging it so I like to wear a variety of wigs. I've found that when I wear the longer, straight dark ones I get WAYYYY more looks and comments from rando men.

*Don't judge me please*I know I look like a "dumb blonde"...it's not difficult to gain attention visually from most men...but I think it surprises guys when they find out i'm smart, funny, have a good job and am independent. Is this ever a turn off for guys? I have questioned it a few times after things fizzle out with a guy. I know you'll say if this is happening he's not for me- which is true...but how does a woman display these attributes without coming across like they don't want or need a man in her life?

I was really enjoying your videos until you made the comment about straight, long, dark hair. I’d love to read this survey you speak of and see how inaccurate its “science” is. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t want to attract a man by straightening my hair in an effort to please him. I’ve done this in the past, and only got attention from men I wasn’t interested in or those who were shallow - I mean, if they really care that much about your hair being silky smooth, tell them to look elsewhere as there are plenty of men who would be more than happy to tell you to leave your hair as is. I should also add that when I stopped straightening my hair and started wearing my hair naturally, I got so many comments from people saying things like, “omg, you straighten your hair? For what? I LOVE your curls, you look better with curly hair.” And these comments came from both men and women. Of course, some people inevitably prefer straight hair, but that doesn’t mean you have to change your hair to find the man “you deserve”. I’m really not even sure where you were going with the straight hair comment. Lol. Do what makes you happy ladies, and good thing the natural hair movement is in full effect. Burning your hair with tools to be someone you’re not is not worth the time or effort! I can tell you first hand! You will actually attract genuine people the more genuine you are with your true self. It’s about what you radiate from within and if you’re sitting there hating your natural hair and straightening it for hours on end, you should know that you’re not going to find someone who can love you the way you want them to because you don’t love or respect yourself. Sure, I still straighten my hair because I get bored, but not to the the effect of how much I used to because it isn’t worth it to me. Do what makes you happy and feel most confident. Confidence is key.

In my 40s I too had to fix my smile again. I opted for actual braces BUT they were lingual braces (attached behind teeth). I had them on for two years and no one knew (unless I told them) and I consider it some of the best $$$ I ever spent! I looked at Smile Direct and Invisalign, but no way I could handle the not drinking any liquids without taking it out! I'm always sipping tea all day. Plus...people CAN see those supposedly "invisible" devices.
