9 Types of MMA Styles

The hybrid or mixed martial arts styles in this video incorporate the following:
Striking
Grappling (stand up or ground grappling)
Some of them are based on traditional martial arts and specifically incorporate these styles or they were developed as a distinct style that includes striking and grappling (either stand up or ground based grappling).

Yaw yan(Sayaw ng Kamatayan, literally means Dance of Death in tagalog) is a Arnis based Hybrid kickboxing created by Grandmaster Napoleon Fernandez. He is a former arnis practitioner who have become a formidable hybrid fighter in kickboxing. His style looks more like muay thai but they often don't block. The style is heavily derived from other martial arts, not only Arnis but they is Taekwondo, shotokan, kyokushin, boxing, judo and jeet kune do. Plus, they focus on a full contact and hybrid fighting and their work out routine is focus on bag work, drills, footwork, sometimes weapons(like sticks and blades), Ground fighting submissions, free sparring and doing full splits just like taekwondo. Yaw yan splits into various categories Most notably Hybrid, Buhawi and ardigma. Etc

so Fiji Muay Thai i have made up my mind im 21 and since martial arts have no age limit i want to be a martial artist and i have chosen the 6 best martial art fighting styles of all time, that are not just good,effective in self defence street fighting and work in mma but have there very own combat sport and i can make money they are sanda,kyokushin karate,taekwondo itf,muay thai,savate,combat sambo

That is awesome man. 21 is still pretty young. Find a good gym and good instructors to teach and train you in the style you choose. The only thing Sanda takes from outside of gung fu is boxing and maybe some western wrestling (maybe 15% of all the takedowns in Sanda). Everything else is found within different styles of gung fu.

The wrestling elements are from Chinese fast wrestling and Tai Chi, and few traditional moves like White Crane Hip Bump, Praying Mantis Kung fu throws.

@@GhostRider-mk5so All of the throws are, but I think most of the takedown shots come from Western wrestling ideas. But maybe I just don’t know Shuai Jiao and other CMA wrestling styles too well.

i went to Combat sport - Wikipedia Common combat sports include boxing (including many styles of kickboxing), wrestling (including Sumo wrestling), fencing, modern-era mixed martial arts (MMA), as well as many varieties of indigenous martial arts, such as judo (Japanese), savate (French), Muay Thai (Thai), Lethwei (Burmese), Sanda (Chinese), Tae Kwon Do (Korean), Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian), Brazilian jiu-jitsu (Brazilian), Sambo (Soviet), and Kyokushin (Japanese-Korean). and well you saw on my first comment that i sent you

There are so many great combat styles. Concentrate on a couple you like. Or you could train MMA itself too :)

also you should know sanda,kyokushin karate,taekwondo itf are the best kung fu karate,taekwondo styles of all time sanda,muay thai,savate are the best kickboxing styles of all time and last sanda and combat sambo are the best military martial arts and the only military martial arts that work in mma i choses the best styles of time i will learn them after covid 19 ends travel the world and make money of those combat sports

I don’t like to put down “traditional martial arts”(Aikido, Hapkido, Kung fu, Silat etc.) These styles have something useful just like all martial arts, but the combat styles/martial arts you mentioned will help you to actually learn how to fight! So good job on your list man 👍🏾

@@briancottingham1674 also Brian looking at this video made me realize that hybrid mixed martial arts styles are the best I have chosen to learn Krav Maga combat sambo Sanda because the three combined are the best martial arts of all time good effective in self-defense street fighting against multiple opponents attackers the train in used wisely I live in America so I know I can learn Krav Maga what about combat sambo and Sanda you know someone else told me that is not about the school it all depends on the person who teaches you the art if it makes you feel better it's possible I might add JKD to it to have my very own martial arts school training and teaching those for best hybrid mixed martial arts styles of all time you can agree with me on everything I said because I said it from my heart and passion of martial arts

you should look up Combat Submission Wrestling & Maphilindo Silat. my choice for these MMA styles are: Combat Sambo, Jeet Kune Do, & Kajukenbo! I think Sambists should cross train in Eskrima/Kali/Arnis & American Kenpo, as for Jeet Kune Do practitioners should cross train in Muay Thai & Aikido. And for Kajukenbo practitioners should cross train in Muay Thai & Submission Wrestling, sorry i'm just brain storming what would make them more efficient.
