1999 Dodge ram 3500 with 5.9l Cummins Turbo Diesel starter not working, just clicks occasionally.

Thanks for the video. My 3500 is blowing the 20Amp starter fuse. I don’t know what the deal is, but I still learned quite a bit from your video.

Thanks Same issue, it would act like a bad battery, one click, try it again, maybe click, maybe vroom. Hasn't stranded me yet, but going to fix it before it does. Been acting up for about 9 months.

I'm about to have to replace mine on my 98 35 today the worst part is i have to buy a new damn map sensor as well

I had to replace the map sensor right after I bought mine it had 107,000 miles on it

Hell yeah that was a barely used motor for an ole cummins. I know an old man with a 1st gen with over 500k on it still hauling shit lol

Stock injector all I have is banks program and 4inch turbo back and a bd torque converter

what if you don't get clicking but takes long time to turn over and start? Can that be a weak starter as well and will this rebuild work for that issue? Thanks for any insight!

Weak batteries which could be caused by a bad alternator or starter motor.

I have a 12 valve Cummins and it won’t crank, it has new batteries and a new starter but still won’t crank

Does it make a click noise if not you might need to check your clutch petal switch (if manual)

@@hazzurs you might have a neutral safety switch issue then, I would make sure you have power at your starter on the big supply voltage and then I would have someone try to crank it and see if a test light lights up on the small crank signal wire
