Where was God in the tragic death of one of his choice servants?
This is a tender and volatile time in the Charismatic and Pentecostal religious world, as people ponder the wisdom, ethics or perhaps just the diplomacy of a perceived "personal" God, who makes personal decisions about who goes or stays, when and how, especially between the malevolent Hitlers and "Hate-lers" of the world and the benevolent teachers and life enhancers of the world, like Dr Myles Munroe, his beloved wife and 7 other precious human beings on that fateful flight last Sunday night. Dr Myles was my friend of over 40 years. I know the integrity of his heart and the poignancy, power and global efficacy of his incomparable ministry at least as it relates to the religious genre and discipline many culturally embrace.
Was his sudden death the judgment of God? Was it reckless more than risky faith? Or was it just their time to go, and if so, why so violently or with such presumed indignity? What can or should we learn from this unsettling, unnerving and unfortunate reality? Why was David Wilkerson, a man believed to be under a heavy "prophetic" anointing, killed in a tragic car accident just a few years back? And what about the reported suicidal death of Bishop David Huskins of the Intl Communion of Charismatic Churches, who succeeded the beloved Bishop Earl Paulk, who stepped down in what some insist was scandalous disgrace? I knew him personally and we’d ministered together.
Should any of these precious and pressured people be considered to have died in defense of the faith or "gospel" or because of their globally impacting testimonies? Should they be considered Martyrs of the faith or just collateral damage?
Scriptures says "who has known the mind of the Lord, that we may instruct him, but we have the mind of Christ.” Wonderful passage of scripture, but it would appear that, at least on this particular decision, our minds may indeed be in conflict with the presumed mind of Christ. Do you presume this to be your God's personal choice or decision, or was this just a freakish accident and sudden act of nature? Are you questioning the wisdom of God to feel disappointed in what many, as a last confusing resort, to be the "will of God?
Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

Thx, Bishop for introducing us to Myles, thru Azusa. You were the first great teacher of many, then you introduced Myles, and then Joyce, and then Jakes and now I'm back to you again, critically thinking, remembering questions and finding answers and then questioning those answers. I'm COGIC born and raised. I didn't join it, I was born in it. I'm 3rd generation. No, one knows what's around the corner. Dec. 2, 2012 I went thru 3 aortic anyerisms that damaged my heart and I had 2 strokes during that 11 hour operation. God sustained me until doctors could get inside to do their work. There's no doctor that wouldn't say I had 3 mins. left in the world. It was 2 hrs and 2 hospitals later until they could get inside and operate. I learned that there was never anything to fear in life or death or GOD in all of that. I love Myles with all he taught. And I love you with all you're continuing to teach, then and now. Both of you are TREMONSTERUS (yeah I wrote that). Keep blessing!!!!

I miss Myles dearly. He brought me out of Christianity and back to the power of the Kingdom of God. I once spoke to a Christian who bashed Myles and said his way of death was a result of sin. The spirit gave me the words to respond. I asked the man, "Oh, just like the blind man whom the disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness?" He was quiet. I reminded him of Jesus words, that no one's sin caused the blindness, but that the work of God could be displayed in his life. Most of the disciples died what we would consider tragic deaths, did God love them any less or was sin at the heart of their method of passing. Not at all. I've come to realize that death is a natural part of life, and the method of which we leave is no reflection on how God feels about us. Some evil doers live long and healthy lives until their death, and some believers die tragically, and vice versa. But Jesus told us not to fear the one who can destroy the body but the one who can destroy the soul. So the more important question for us all is not how we die, but who's hands do our souls rest in. Myle's soul was undoubtedly in the hands of God. He preached at the end about his race being done, he preached about leaving the leadership behind for the next generation. I think he knew his time was coming up, and he was ready because he did what God asked him to do and that was preach about the Kingdom of God. And he did a wonderful job!

Bishop Pearson I have truly been blessed by your ministry thru out the years. Myles Muroe was one of the first preachers that I actually watch for three hours and still wanted to hear more. I truly believe that your best days are ahead of you and AZUSA was just a stepping stone of what the LORD has for you to do. The entire body of CHRIST will hear from you soon and your ministry shall excel like never before. Continue to Prosper !

I actually enjoyed Carlton Pearson . I did not judge him for times past. He was very informative and open to a lot of things that really starch Christians want to know but are too high-minded to ask. Like he said 'There is no church members to now judge him" If so many people want to judge him instead of listening to what he said. ...That is your business. NOW HE ONLY ANSWERS TO GOD. He hit a lot of key points. He like many others talk about a man he loved and in some instances I could see his face pain for his friend.

Evidently, it is sad that such a faithful servants had to die for people to share their unsolicited junk that am listening to: I would just like to ask everyone, can to listen to a tape by Myles Munroe, in 2013 in the Bronx New York; I plan to listen to it again and again. As for Carlton Pearson, i will reserve, my comments, Dr. Munroe will live on in the minds of so many including myself : He was a man who lived his purpose. Perhaps it was a premature ending. Dr. L. Preachers and leaders in this era , the era of the greatest deception of all times ,THE END TIME [FINAL HOUR FOR THE DOOR TO BE SHUT]. The churches and leaders are preaching a social gospel. a false gospel.leading the sheep into death by a religious front. The OLD KING JAMES ,a worthy edition has now being cast aside ,making place for the anti CHRIST EDITION.

Great words of wisdom Bishop Pearson, keep on keepin on great brother! it's hard to understand the death of the saints, but of course as the Bible says absent from the body present with the Lord! Theologically we may never fully understand, but in heaven I'm sure Yeshua will make all things clear! Songs, Greek, Hebrew or any other biblical languages will not explain, so let's just pray for his church and the saints that will sorely miss him! he and Mrs Monroe are with the Lord Jesus or Christ!

Mr. Pearson I believe the verse in Romans that you quoted regarding "the wages of sin is death" the death is not a physical death .... The "death" Paul refers to is a SPIRITUAL death. Please don't twist God's word.

I listen his teaching as if he is alive on the earth also seeing his children will give me comfort. Also thank you for answering in such a beautiful way some of WHY question we have, Beautiful presentation . with lots of love. From Toronto

Is very tragic for past them Monro and family. But, there's a fine line between faith and foolishness. Faith is only as good as the object it possesses. We are losing common sense and being foolish all in the name of faith . Even the story of the Hebrew boys sold good common sense of not tempting God and calling your faith.

As I hear this I believe that many times in life death as we know it needs to happen to make space for a change. God uses leaders to lead this change.... He has allowed Myles to lead this change. God has always used this man of God in my life.... He will be missed...however his message about the Kingdome is eternal and within this timeless message is where Myles Munroe lives Amen

I’m still blown away by your encounter with God in your book that I have, The Gospel of Inclusion. But I’m confused about that people are granted eternal life as a gift and that we’re not naturally ETERNAL. This bothers me. So Plato came up with the idea that humans have an Eternal soul that we just pass away, disappear. My mother isn’t yet “saved” I’ve spent 30 years trying to bring her to Jesus, so Carlton what do I do? I have been a Christian for 30 years, I’m afraid for her . I’ve seen that Hell is a black empty place, read the book All About Heaven by David Oliver he was part of Salt & Light International , I used to be in a Salt & Light church in Derby, England in the late 80s and 90s a Pentecostal church.

I have been watching some of his videos and they are very powerful messages. To me understanding the the biblical prophet they die horrible because the devil will attack you violently when you go deep in his territory. Dr Myles Munroe was definitely teach how to function and take control of our divine purpose earth on earth. Dr Myles Munroe was transmitting very powerful message through the airwaves and the Devil get very angry because that his territory, satan is the prince of the air. Dr Myles Munroe teaching light and people began to see life in a different perspective. Dr Myles Munroe preach the undiluted word of God. He knew that he would be attack because he was stepping on the devil's toes. I know that God had Dr Myles Munroe with him. Dr Myles Munroe has ran the race, he fights the good fight and now he is an angel waiting for his congregation to meet with him on the final run.

And so basically I'm just saying I don't know and to simply just accept it.GOD IS GOD!

43:05 - The counsel of his will vs His "will" that none should perish Carlton Pearson deliberately equivocates the word "will" to shore up this inane doctrine of his. Everyone knows that God, like humans have active and permissive "wills". Your active will is what you do; as when I sign a purchase a agreement - I literally will the purchase of the object. Then I have my permissive will, which is basically a desire; as in I will that no person in the world goes hungry tonight. Just because the same word is used here doesn't mean they are the same MEANING! If Carlton were a regular guy, I would chalk this up to the person simply being un-taught and ungainly in rightly dividing the word of truth. But Carton is a Bishop with years and years of study, experience and preaching under his belt, which means he knows this concept. This is just so sad and tragic; that this once man of God could get so derailed! I mean, no person in their right mind likes the idea that BILLIONS will perish, but to come up with this strange countermeasure of a doctrine is basically calling God a liar and a crazy person. As if He's responsible for the consequences of our sinful condition. No! When Adam wrecked the car that day, all of us, the generations of humanity to come, were in the back seat that day. He chose for us, just as we choose for our children the blessings or curses by the decisions WE make. That's the two-edged nature of authority: It can take those under us to the greatest heights, or the lowest depths. SMH..
