Vert definitely matters for blocks and rebounds. My 2-way Spot Up Glass Cleaner is 6’10 and can outboard 7ftrs. Also, if I jump late after someone lays the ball up, I can still jump up and snatch it bc of my vertical

Even if your attributes are high it ultimately comes down to player skill level

The diff between pro am and squad rec is in pro am your playing another 5 man squad. Squad rec can be a team of 3 and duo, 2 duos and an AI.

Vert matters as well as wingspan, man a 7’0 pg with max wingspan, 99 o board 95 pass acc 87 block, averaging a trip dub in the rec and the blocks i get are insane due to the height and wingspan, honestly feels more like a 93 block which is scary

In my opinion high interior defense is better than high block you get so many stops in the paint

imo interior is very important if u wanna get blocks, my build got 87 block and i wasn’t get that many blocks but now the defense is upgraded and i got 72 interior with silver anchor and i’ve been getting hella snatch blocks on 6’9 3 levee threat

Me as a person with a 99 block build, I'd say if you wanna just play elite paint defense nd nothing else? it def worth it, the 93 vert is kinda much , but in general the 99 block is for sure a force nd almost impossible to score on even when in bad position alot of the times.

I think anchor as a badge is broken this year. It doesn’t always pop up when it should.

All you need is a 77 block. 82 vert. My experience vertical does matter. I made 2 of the same players with and without vert. The one with vert I was grabbing way more boards and blocks

I also matters if you made a 73 minimum wingspan max weight that’s normally the build that gets the most snatched blocks with a 99 block I just see that from experience is that that normally gets the most snatched blocks probably because it’s the fastest off the ground

If you play with randoms or just need to be a little more well rounded, 78/87 is such a good way to be more versatile. If you only play with a squad and your only job is to defend the rim then sure go for 92+ but it’s not that game changing imo

Squads Rec and Pro am 5’s are NOT the same it’s a completely different level of difficulty. Competition wise and shooting wise

I made this build with higher dunking and a 84 vert. Is the vertical too low or does more vertical unlock any animations or get more blocks?

Vertical does help you jump higher but it won't help you on defense there's times where you have high vertical high block gold anchor and just jump over them with your hand instead of hitting the ball

Me personally I have a couple builds with 78 block my lock has 87, and my bigs have 92. I can say 78 isn’t really it I do sometimes but as a defensive build I would go higher. And as far as 87 on my lock I believe is plenty good and I would say it’s the sweet spot for spreading attributes

The jump you got and was talking about the animation and whether you get it at bronze anchor, you dont. Ive tested it quite a bit myself. That jump unlocks between 94-97 block, i want to say 94 but i noticed it a lot more at 97. 92 definitely doesnt get it like the other 2 ratings. From my testing, 99 is overkill 97 is max you need to go for crazy animations from pogo and chasedown, both hof. 92 is a trap, 100% not worth because 87 gives the best value in terms of points spent for the builder. There is nothing you get from 87-92 block that justifies it. 94 would be the next threshold for me personally.

I average 3 blocks in rec with a silver anchor on my 6’9 SG. Block is way more than just stopping the paint. It helps you contest perimeter shots too

Im a 7ft Center with like a 80 block and I average 4-5 a game in rec easily. Getting a block is way more about user timing than the attribute level.

Vertical is what does it for you. I have a 6’8 lock with a 83 defensive rebound and a 85 vertical with a 92 block. I get mad snatch blocks and chase downs. And i usually rebound just as much as a regular center would

I think that high-vertical matters but if you’re significantly smaller than the big you’re guarding, it won’t always matter if you have a lower strength rating.

You never need more than 87 block on any kind of build and I also find 78 block is literally perfect and allows you to make the best big man builds possible bc you can put so many more attributes on other things bc block is so expensive on a big and not actually very effective when upgraded really high in this game

I have a 7’1 97 defensive anchor build with 99 block, and im telling my you it’s worth it! I average around 4 blocks a game at the rec, and with HOF anchor in 2-3 it really forces the offense to shift towards more threes which usually means more turnovers/fast breaks. I think 75 pass is good enough to get the ball down the court accurately. All that to say, the offense is forced to respect the paint and you get crazy animations to go along with it it.

i have a 99 block on a 7'1, not worth it. max I ever got was 4 blocks. I made a new build with 87 block at 6'7 with more speed and vert. and got 12 blocks 1st game.

To me it isn’t worth it. Too much rng in this game to justify investing so much in block. I think a good combo would be a 7 footer with 93 block and high vertical. The bigger player model alone would help you get more opportunities for blocks.

It's not worth it. I made last with 87 block and 60 vert and couldn't block anyone. Made a 99 block with 90 vert build and guess what.... I couldn't block anyone. Last year dunks were egregious though I could only run toward people before they started an animation to prevent those dunks from happening, but otherwise it was never me doing snatch blocks like I imagine a 99 block attribute with hall of fame anchor and pogo stick. Heck even guard with 50 dunks were getting to the rim with no problem. The build height was 6'9 as well.

you paid for it do what you want but i feel like this. random rec- no friends squad rec- group of 2-3 joins another group of 2-3 or a group that doesn't play regular and no plays or zone pro am- regular full 5 try hard zones and plays

All the things you did in this video i’ve done with a 78 vertical and 87 block consistently. Vertical is a threshold don’t change your build to max out your vertical, only enough to unlock badges. Stop misleading the community this is why we blame youtubers. If you can’t get blocks and rebounds like in the video consistently with the bare minimum for silver anchor you suck at defense which is like 80% of the community.

Being that short just isn’t worth
